The University of Barishal (BU) is a public university located in Barishal, Bangladesh. It is the 33rd public university in Bangladesh. The university was founded in 2011. There are 11 faculties in total at the institution, and they provide undergraduate degrees across many different subject areas. The campus of the university is situated at Kornokathi, Barishal. For student accommodation, there are two boy's halls and two girls' halls. During the autumn season, the university campus is decorated with the white color of Kans grass.

It was the best inclusion by the government at the southern part of Bangladesh. Already the students from here have shown their power of intellectuality in the national and international level.
