Great Mosque. If the weather is fine, it view gets better. Outside kinda looks heavenly. Inside is really big. It's the biggest mosque in Bangladesh. Anyway, Interior is getting quite old. They need to color and polish the white marble. It is really dark inside. But, everything aside it is recommended to visit once.

The Baitul Mukarram National Mosque is a must-see for anyone visiting Dhaka. This architectural marvel is not only a beautiful place of worship but also a significant landmark in the city.

Here's what impressed me:

Unique Design: The mosque's geometric design is unlike any other I've seen. The concrete block facade creates a modern and striking appearance.
Peaceful Atmosphere: Despite its central location, the mosque offers a sense of tranquility. It's a great place to escape the hustle and bustle of the city.
Rich History: Completed in 1968, the mosque is a symbol of Bangladesh's independence and a beautiful example of Islamic architecture.

Things to keep in mind:

Dress Code: If you plan to enter the prayer hall, there's a dress code. Men should wear long pants and shirts with sleeves, and women should cover their heads and wear loose-fitting clothing.
Respectful Behavior: Since it's a place of worship, be mindful of noise levels and respectful of those praying.

Overall, the Baitul Mukarram National Mosque is a stunning landmark that offers a glimpse into Bangladeshi culture and religion. It's definitely worth a visit!

The National Mosque of Bangladesh, not only the largest in Bangladesh but one of the largest in the world with a capacity more than 42000. Completed in late Pakistani rule and designed by Abdulhusein Thariani, a prominent architect of the age. The mosque's architecture has derived it's influence from Mughal architecture but it has a very modern look to it. original design doesn't stand now because it had to be renovated and extended to meet modern needs, but it's still very beautiful.
