One of Bangladesh's renowned public universities, this institution stands amidst dense forests and lush hedgerows, its beauty accentuated during the winter season. The campus is alive with the melodious chirping of birds that visit regularly, attracting outsiders on weekends and public holidays. The "Bot tola" in Jahangirnagar is famed for its Bengali cuisine, while various points on campus host popular food festivals. The university offers admission opportunities across numerous departments, including science, humanities, and business administration.

I went there for admission exam, I stayed in an older brother's room for about three days with my 4 friends, I was just surprised to see their new halls. so much technology in them and so beautiful,it is unbelievable that it could be so beautiful university hall room bathroom toilet. I have visited many universities and found this university to be the best and most beautiful. It is very tidy and clean and the university elder brothers have provided a lot of help during admission and even helped everyone to stay at night.

Established in 1970, Jahangirnagar University (JU) is one of the top public universities in Bangladesh. The campus is one of the largest in the country as well, covering over 697 acres of land.

Almost every building or a structure is adjacent to a garden. The entire campus is enveloped in greenery. The natural clean air refreshens the mind and body completely, alongside with the aroma of the flowers. It took me around 1 hour and 30 minutes to tour the campus. Very much recommended.

I had the opportunity to visit this institution, which is located in a well-known place in the northern part of Dhaka, beside the Savar cantonment area. It is one of the oldest and most prestigious institutions in the country, and I was eager to see it for myself.

The premises of this institution were wonderful. They had a lot of fields that I liked very much. The fields were green and well-maintained, and there were many trees and flowers around them. The campus was spacious and peaceful, and I felt relaxed walking around it.

However, the interior was disappointing. The benches were broken, the classrooms were not spacious, and the airflow was poor. The buildings were too old and needed renovation. They looked dull and dirty, and some of them had cracks on the walls. Another major issue was the lack of canteens in the student halls. There were some alternative places to eat nearby, but they were crowded and expensive. It would have been more convenient for the students if there were canteens attached to the buildings, where they could get affordable and hygienic food.

On the other hand, the teachers were quite friendly and helpful. They assisted us a lot and made us feel welcome. They answered our questions patiently and explained everything clearly. They also shared some interesting stories and insights about their subjects and experiences.

Overall, I had a mixed experience at this institution. It has some great aspects, such as the premises and the teachers, but also some areas that need improvement, such as the interior and the canteens.

Jahangir

Jahangirnagar was the former name of Dhaka. The Mughal city of Dhaka was named Jahangirnagar (City of Jahangir) in honour of the erstwhile ruling Mughal Emperor Jahangir by Islam Khan in 1610.

Jahangirnagar University was established in 20 August 1970, but formally launched on 12 January 1971[15] under the Jahangirnagar Muslim University Ordinance, 1970[7] and this day is observed as University Day. Initially, it was named Jahangirnagar Muslim University, and the plan was to operate the university like Aligarh Muslim University. But after the independence of Bangladesh, its name changed to Jahangirnagar University under the Jahangirnagar University Act' 1973.[15]

Its first vice-chancellor, Mafizuddin Ahmed (PhD in chemistry, Penn State) took up office on 24 September 1970. The first group of students, a total of 150, were enrolled in four departments: Economics, Geography, Mathematics, and Statistics. Its formal inauguration was delayed until 12 January 1971, when the university was launched by Rear Admiral S. M. Ahsan, the chancellor.[7]

Jahangirnagar University Act of 1973Edit

ACT NO. XXXIV OF 1973, an act to repeal the Jahangirnagar Muslim University Ordinance, 1970 and to provide for reconstitution and reorganisation of the Jahangirnagar Muslim University.

I love the natural environment of the campus and it’s a large campus. There are well-built research facilities. I am pleased to get a chance here. After completing my graduation, I feel the demand of this University in the job market. The unemployment percentage is very low for the overall environment of this campus. There are rich alumni members with pride. They are contributing to this country. JAHANGIRNAGAR UNIVERSITY is very popular in Bangladesh for its quality education and research.

The finest university in Bangladesh. It is the 4th oldest generalized public university in Bangladesh. Also, it has 4th largest university campus in Bangladesh. JU is considered as the most beautiful university in Bangladesh. The topography of the land with its gentle rise and plains is pleasing to the eyes. The water features sprawled around the campus make an excellent habitat for the winter birds that flock in every year in the thousands and consequently, it is a site frequented by many bird watchers.
