The Shahidi Mosque, a modern architectural and historical spot is situated at the east edge of Kishoreganj municipality. The three-storied beautifully decorated building fascinates. From historical sources, we, have come to know that on October 24, 1942, the British soldiers on communal issue shot 12 Muslims, and 5 among them eventually died. Muslim scholars declared the dead Muslims as Shahid and since then the mosque has become familiar as `Shahidi Masjid’.

This famous place stands beside Kishoreganj district town and very close to Kishoreganj sadar hospital and jute research institute, Gurudoyal Government college. It's only 1.50 kilometers far from Gaital bus stand. Many people from our country give donations in this mosjid.

The history of Shahidi Masjid is not very old but it is very interesting.Hazrat Maulana Atahar Ali (RA) played an outstanding role in modernizing the mosque. He belongs to a noble and pious family of Ghungadia village of Biyani Bazar police station of Sylhet district.

Though I didn’t went to pray this time but some day i will definitely go and have prayers. When i went to Kishorganj i get to know that this Mosque (Masjid) is a historical place along with a Hafizia Madrasha..

This is old mosque. The mosque is situated in the area puranathana of  Kishoreganj town, Kishoreganj district. The  mosque established by Hazrat Maulana Athar Ali (R), who decided to stay permanently in the mosque of his life, he is the beginning of a great achievement, he has been a brief discussion before. A local Hindu community on the occasion of worship in the mosque, worshipers resisted efforts to sammukha images with the music playing. At the time, several worshipers were killed in police firing. Since that time, the mosque was known as the Mosque of martyrdom.
