Kaswabtuli Jame Masjid is a century old mosque located on PK Ghosh Road in Kasaituli, Old Dhaka. Locally it is known as 'Chinir Tukha Masjid'. Basically, the local residents called the mosque by this name because the white pieces of porcelain on the mosque look like sugar grains. (At present the reason for the special attraction of the people in the mosque: It is heard from the locals that after the people's prayers at night, the jinns come to the mosque and offer prayers and cry)

The mosque was built in 1907. A businessman named Abdul Bari built it. The mosque was renovated in 1979 without any change in the workmanship. Later, the eastern and northern sides of the mosque were expanded to increase its capacity.
The original mosque is single storeyed but the extension is three storeyed. At present it is situated in about five khata areas. The main mosque building has no flat roof. Each pillar of the roofless mosque is topped by a dome. The roof of the main part has three domes. The central dome of the three domes is large and the two on either side are medium in size. Besides, there are four turrets at the four corners, all four are of the same type of craftsmanship. The domes and turrets are topped by arrows with lotus designs. Besides, there are two domes with six small and two pairs of pillars. The height of the domes is 5-12 feet.
The main feature of the mosque is the 'Chinese craftsmanship' done in it. The entire interior and exterior walls of the main building are designed with Chinithikari style mosaics. Pictures of roses, bunches of grapes and vases have been carved on the walls and arches of the mosque with broken pieces of porcelain and colored glass. The designs around the mihrab and mihrab inside the mosque are the most colorful and gorgeous.

Alhamdulillah today is Jumma Mubarak. Almost a hundred years old, the traditional Kasaituli sugar piece mosque in old Dhaka. Do as good as you can on the ground. Inshallah you will find more peace under the ground than that. Today I performed the Friday prayers. O Allah, accept the prayers, Amin.

The Qassabtuly Mosque is one of the most ornate mosques in Old Dhaka, Bangladesh. It's gloriously inscribed decorations are delicate and one of a kind.[1][2][3]

The foundation of the Qassabtuly Jam-e-Masjid (Hijri 1338), laid by Abdul Bari Bepari and others and situated in old town Dhaka in Bangladesh, was built in the year of 1919.[4] It has recently acquired the name "Koshaituly Jam-e-Masjid" referring to "koshais" (butchers) who used to dwell at the old town.

The mosque was built by Qamruddin Sardar.
The construction of the mosque stretched to the year of 1945 and was renovated in the year of 1971. The building of this mosque had a remarkable impact on the Muslims of Bengal, as it introduced pre-mughal art and architecture when it was established in the year 1919.

Architectural style
This three-flute-domed mosque is studded with pieces of ceramic or chini-tikri. The high-plinth design of the building followed by the design of the three domes, with the bigger dome in the middle and the smaller ones on either sides, was typical Mughal architecture. This exquisitely colorful-mosque has a surrounding balcony on the north-side of the building.
The west facade of the building stands adjacent to two high towers, accompanied by turrets and domes. The west side or the Qibla (The direction Muslims face when they offer prayer) of the mosque is a hollow concave wall, with a spherical onion shaped dome on the top, and decorated with fine floral motifs and floral vases.
Colorful floral decorations are studded on the doors to the main chamber along with multifoiled arches. The main chamber of the mosque accommodates 120 people while the outer hall can offer space to 1,000 people praying at a time. The use of glazed tile wasn't introduced to the local Hindus up until the ornate decoration of this mosque was showcased.

Kasbabatuli Jame Mosque. The main features and characteristics of the mosques have been the planning and refinement of the wall resulting Mughal architecture and kingdom. The facilities on the main Koda roof are three domes. Mountain Chinese mosaics of colored porcelain pieces have also been used. The revered and unconventional Sundari Mosque used to be called 'Shredded Mosque' The mosque, a monument of beauty and tradition, is also known by many as the 'Sugar Piece Mosque'. But due to antiquity and some carelessness, the eye-catching beauty of the mosque is going to be ruined day by day. Some stones and bright tiles are about to fall off.
