Kirtipasha Jamindar Bari

It's a huge complex and the biggest Jamindar house in the region. The main building had 200 rooms, it is currently under a local school authority. The rest of the buildings are in ruins, and needs to be preserved. The history needs to be documented properly as well.

The historic Kritipasha zamindar's bari is located 8 km away from Jhalokati. This house is about 200 years old. Kalipurush was the original man of Kirtipasha zamindarbari. There are still several old houses witnessed by the kings. This is a great place to spend time.

Kirtipasha Zamindar Bari (কীর্ত্তিপাশা জমিদার বাড়ী) is situated at the village named 'Kirtipasha' (কীর্ত্তিপাশা) of Jhalokathi district. This palace was founded by Ramjibon Sen more than hundred years ago. Currently it is abandoned and in such poor condition. Floors and ceilings are almost disappeared because of lack of maintenance.

However, still i can feel the art and architectural view of this landlord palace. One of the part of this landlord palace is now using as a girls School. There is also Temple situated in this premise.

Kirtipasha Zamindar Bari was established about a hundred year ago. Part of the dynasty of the Bikrampuri Zamindar established the Kirtipasha Zamindar Bari in Jhalokati district in the late 19th century. In the early 19th century, King Ram Sengupta of the Bikrampur Zamindari dynasty came to this village of Kirtipasha. Here he built two houses for his two sons. The old house for the eldest son which was purba bari-10 annas known as the big share zamindar house and the house for the youngest son, which was purba bari- 6 annas known as the small share of zamindar house. The younger son's zamindar's house was destroyed long ago.Some parts of the eldest son's zamindar's house have still survived. The zamindar's son of this zamindar's house was poisoned to death and his wife also died with him. They were later buried together. There have still been a theater, hall, small and big temples. Rohini Roy Chowdhury and Tapan Roy Chowdhury are two famous persons of this zamindari dynasty.

Kirtipasha Zamindar Bari is located at the village Kirtipasha of Jhalokathi district. This is probably a century old house. Now a day's it is abandoned, abd in a dilapidated condition. For most of the cases only the wall are standing, and the floors or ceilings are disappeared. The name of the village is after the Zamindar Kirtinarayan Pasha.And the founder of the Zamindar Bari was Ramjibon Sen.Only one of the building from this massive was in a good condition. Right now that one is a part of girls school along with a newly building. The Zamindar Bari premise has a Shiva Temple inside. And the remaining of a beautiful temple is also exists these day.

The location of the Kirtipasha Zamindar Bari is on Kirtipasha Bazar Road in Kirtipasha, Jhalokati. In addition to this landmark, Jhalokati lists eleven other landmarks. Barisal District is roughly 12 to 15 kilometers away.

The zamindar bari (landlord’s home) is located roughly 5 kilometers to the northwest of Jhalakathi. To reach the village from the city, I used an electric auto-rickshaw (battery-powered vehicle). Then I began heading towards the zamindar bari, which was almost a century old, with a distinct sense of exhilaration. Eventually, I reached the end of my journey and was standingștiin front of my objective.

Initially constructed by Zamindar Ram Jiban Sen in the early 19th century, the opulent mansion is now owned by the royal family. Later, Zamindar Kirtinarayan Pasha erected a number of temples on the estate grounds. He is honored with a place name.

The zamindar bari is one of the grandest and largest in Bangladesh. At least 200 rooms were present. Currently, it is an abandoned property in a terribly deteriorated state. The majority of the building’s walls are still standing, but the floors and ceilings have vanished. Only one structure is currently in good condition. It serves as the 1975-established Nabin Chandra Girls High School. Eventually, a second new school building was completed. On the property sits an abandoned Shiva temple. On the route to the house, there is an additional, well-kept Shiva shrine.
