Sufia Kamal National Public Library

Sufia Kamal National Public Library is located at the center of the Dhaka City however, it is very traditional and beautiful place for hang around with small groups of buddies or family. It has the giant room with various types of books, newspapers, magazines and lots of historical books. The library is open 9am to 5pm to all the visitors. Adjacent of the main building, there are a huge Auditorium to arrange cultural activities or stage dramas. There are open places with gardens for kids. Servant quarter is also inside of this area with proper security and safety. Everyone is welcome here.

Nice and calm study environment for any level student and interested ones. Here have extra places only for children's, here children can come and seat for study, recognised world femous children books are available here.

Sufia Kamal National Public Library is commonly known as the National Public Library of Bangladesh. This library is commonly used by the under graduate and post graduate students of Bangladesh. A lots of books collections are there and this place is very clum and quite place for the book lovers and readers though it is situated in a crowdy place like Shahbagh.

I have always imagined that paradise will be a kind of a library . Nothing is pleasenter than exploring a library. So sufia kamal national public library is a good place to explore. It is located at shahabag area. Department of Public Libraries is a government department under the Ministry of Cultural Affairs of the Government of Bangladesh. It is responsible for government owned public libraries in Bangladesh . But there is some changes because of corona pendemic . One of the big, oldest, beautiful and famous public library in Dhaka. So many category books are available here. Now a days the building was under-construction. I didn't know why? We should after construction it's more beautiful more facility provided us.

It is Bangladesh central library. You can read all books without membership but you want to home,need a membership.

The library is very beautiful. It is situated the South of National Museum and North of DU mosque. The environment of the library is quite good for reading. It is neat and clean. Keep quite is must here. There are many shelves where the books are kept by their subjects. I'm very much proud to make a visit the library in 18.10.2018. It is a memorable day for me indeed.

Sufia Kamal Public Library – popularly known as public library – is up for a complete renovation to give one of Dhaka’s treasured landmarks a modern look The preparations are almost finished. Books are packed, the furniture has been stacked, and the computers along with other digital devices are stuffed into “fragile” boxes to shift them to their new home for the next three years at the Institute of Engineers Bangladesh (IEB).

Officials and staff of the 67-year-old library are now busy with the last-minute relocation arrangements. Many are full of memories, tinged with sadness, as they prepare to leave their decade-long workplace.

It is the largest public library in Bangladesh which is run by Ministry of Cultural Affairs. This library is functioning as the main institution of the public library system in the country. There are huge collection of books and the people of different sections come to enrich & enlighten themselves in the light of knowledge.

It is located in Shahbag, Dhaka. In addition, public and private libraries are being run in different parts of Bangladesh with the direct cooperation of this library.

I've been looking for a place near me to read books, to note. Here you can read for hours as guest, photocopy, lend books being a member. When you need refreshment take a walk outside, eat at the canteen outside, have mint tea with a little walk. The entrance is particularly eye catching, directly goes to second floor with lots of steps, you can sit over the steps and pass some time. The book collection is good. Lacking a digital catalogue and searching causes the biggest frustration, also the ban over bringing personal books and laptop. My suggestion to make reading more enjoyable: make it possible to have tea and coffee while reading, and canteen special benefits card for members.

Very well-known place for me. I think this is the largest Library in Dhaka. Very large building with magnificent outlook. But the book collection of the Library is not satisfactory. Maintainance is very poor. I have passed a lot of time. My realisations is that book stock should be increased.

This is also call central library of Bangladesh. This library open for all and providing service 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM. You will get all types of book. Dramatic, Comic, Literature, History, Solo. There is some authentic book which will not find any where.

National Public Library is a very nice place. There are thousands of books to study. But now a day people reluctant to study. Most of young boys and girls. Spent there spare time, in surfing social media like Facebook. Gradually book is getting back dated element. Young stars are not interested to spend their time to read a book. They want more smart equipment. Which come to them as a more entertaining device. So they are fade up with book. Thx

Public Library of Bangladesh is the largest library in Bangladesh. In 1996 it was entitled “Begum Sufia Kamal National Public Library”. It is situating at shahbag, Dhaka. In this library full of old and unusual books. It have more than 119750 books. This place is open for all people. I like this place very much.

If you love books just get here. Its govt run so services wont be top notch but you get probably the biggest collection of books in here. You can enter and read without being a member for as long as you want. So a fair trade off.

Famous Public Library besides Shahbag and University of Dhaka. This is for public study. The most romantic, historc place also. Always been crowded, joyful place. Very nice looking and very nice place tostudy specially for students.
