River Camp Buna - Half Island

We loved our stay at this simple, but super nice camping spot. We took a dip into the cold Buna twice a day and found it clean and very refreshing. The drinking water, electricity etc are all very good and there are places with shade. Facilities are simple but sufficient.

The owner is very, very friendly and committed and helped us enormously with a technical problem of our caravan. He also gives good information on the surroundings, bike routes etc.

The drive into Mostar is easy and less than half an hour. The Derwish Monastery at Blagaj is even closer and well worth a visit.
In summary: Well deserved 5 stars!

Attention: Don't trust your navigation system! Take care to find the sign next to the Muslim cemetery across from the big church BEFORE crossing the Buna (if you are coming from the direction of Mostar) and then follow the "Camp" signs.

This is beautiful place, very good localization between all important sightseeings around. Calm camping on the edge of a village, cold refreshing river accessible from the place, feeling of freedom. All stuff you need is here, showers, wifi, small kitchen, even a fridge and electricity - and that's all in one price (and the price is low)! Very nice. For a fee, you can wash your laundry. The owner is nice and caring guy, giving you freedom. We planned to stay here 2 nights and at the end we stayed 5 :) We were able to travel from here to all POIs here - namely Mostar, Radimlja, Daorson, Blagaj, Kravica, Jablanica, Medugorje. Best camping in BiH so far for us.

We stayd for 2 nights to visit Blagaj and Mostar, to where we get by bikes from the camp.
Camp is simple but very clean, nice quiet loction just by the river.
If I'll ever be nearby I'll stay therw for sure.

What a beautiful, peaceful patch of earth! This camp sits just next to the pretty, refreshing Buna river, which is a blessing if you stay there in the summer.
All this being even surpassed by the loveliest, funniest, most helpful owner you can imagine.
Ibrahim Gaga is very present, always wearing a smile or funny story and most of all super helpful, courteous & supportive. Don’t forget to ask him about recommendations for buying local wine & honey right from where it was made.

Nice place at the river. Narrow access road but well marked. The owner is very helpful. We used his transportation to Mostar and back to camp in order to not move with big camper. There is one facility building with all amenities. Owner Ibrahim gave as all needed information and was always making sure we do not need anything. Buna source is not far away and accessible with camper. If you are in Mostar surrounding, this is good camp.

Coming from "Bretagne / Breizh" far west of France, we stayed here for a week 14 / 21 september 2022 .. In our opinion it is the best campsite to visit not only Mostar but also Blagaj and many other sites. The owner, Ibrahim, nickname Gaga, is very caring for you. You arrive and it is written at entrance " settle quiet I will pass later on " ... The slightest need or information , you bip his phone number and he is there! With him , all is based on trust ! He can drive you to Mostar and pick you up for cheap (€ 20 go and return). Nothing to add on an extra owner, a quiet place, the soothing river ! Toilets, showers very clean. kitchen area and washing machine, water pipe, electricity, chemical WC point, etc. Perfect stay and warm owner . And 17 € per day for 2, an XXL Van, trailer and buggy on board! It's quite unbelievable but true. Thank you Ibrahim Gaga as well as for the present local house wine and hello to mama, apparently she liked our Pont Aven galettes 😉 🖐👏

Cool place. The owner Gaga and his mom are more than welcoming and helpful with a great sense of humour. Gaga also helped us out in a stressful situation outside the camp. 10€ per night for a tent and 2 persons. Great Wi-Fi, simple but functional and clean kitchen, showers and toilets as well as drinking water (tap) and electricity. All included. Thanks a lot for those 2 nights and the interesting and funny conversations.

Great camp with good parking place near the. River. It's very calm and nice and has Clean bathrooms and close to the most important places. It's 20 minutes from Mostar 30 minutes from kravici waterfalls 20 minutes from balgaj Tikja... So it's a very great place to stay in and to camp. And the weather near the river is amazing and you can kanoo in the river

It's a wonderful place- especially if you like rivers and refreshing water! Gaga and his wonderful mother know a solution for every "problem" you might have! He even brought us with his car and our SUPs to the springs of the rivers Buna and Bunica where we could float down- ending right at the campground! Very special adventure trips! On a nice bike-tour we could visit Bagaj and Mostar on one day. The fridge for all is cold every time, the sanitary services are well cleaned any time - and Gaga speaks English very well, tells you a lot of interesting things about his country. Nice restaurants are nearby - hopefully the shade trees will grow fast in the next years.

If you visit Mostar with a camper van, this the place to stay. Beautiful place, nice and helpful owner, excellent restaurant in 5 min. walking distance. We enjoied our stay there.

Calm and good situated camping by river Buna, where you can take a pleasant bath. Gaga, the owner is good and very helpful person. He offers a transfer to Mostar at reasonable price. Opened throughout the year. Most recommended!!!

We stayed here for 5 days at the end of August with a tent.

+ The camping is small with a river next to it;
+ We could choose our own spot;
+ Very friendly owner;
+ although there is no washing machine at the campsite anymore, we could use the washing machine in a appartement nearby;
+ close to all main highlights in the area;
+ on request owner can bring you to Mostar against a small payment;
+ shower and toilets are fine.

Stayed in mid August 2018.

Stayed for only two nights before having to continue.
Camping is easy to reach, although Google Maps leads you to the wrong side of the river.

Camp site is small but decent with enough electricity outputs. Try to get a spot near the river as this is a lot cooler. Sanitary is limited but clean, unfortunately the shower heads in one of the male's showers is broken. Given the very low price of the site, this can easily be forgiven, especially because of the amazing owner, Gaga.
Very helpful, kind, funny and happy. Sells amazing home-made brandy, which I strongly recommend.

Would definitely visit again.

Very nice location and a well-equipped camping, you can find everything from a kitchen, bathroom, shower, wifi and seating services as well as access to a waterfront. The owner was very accomodating and went out of his way to make us feel at home. Thank you!

The owner Gaga and his mother were exceptionally welcoming! They made us feel right at home and chatted with us like old friends. The facilities were clean, the camping area was very nice and right next to the river. Fair prices, close to Mostar and a great place to be based out of to explore the region! Amazing camping all regards, we came to stay for two nights but only left after six! The owner, Gaga, is one of the happiest and loveliest people we’ve ever met and he wants to help and make your stay in Bosnia & Hercegovina and Mostar the best possible. Furthermore, are the facilities good and there is a nice (although cold) swimming spot right off the camping. You are also close by to all the main attractions such as Blagaj, Potčitelj and Kravice! If you want a memorable holiday, go to River Camp Buna!

the place is just taken from a fairytale and the hosts: Gaga and his mother, were amazing.
the amenities were really nice, clean showers and toilets, kitchen and barbeque at your disposal, you couldn't wish for more.
we literally felt like being home.

Really nice campsite directly at the besutifull river Buna. The showers and toilets are really clean and in good condition.
On the campsite you have a nice swimming spot and can enter the cold river Buna. The owner is very friendly, helpfull and knows everything about the area. We had a great stay and hope to come Back!

We had a brilliant stay at the campground. Gaga and his mother showed us true hospitality and treated us like friends. The water nearby is really cold (I tried it!) which gives a cool breeze on the hot days, and happily it's too cold for mosquitos. We had a great barbecue with multiple people on the big community table. The showers/ toilets are very clean, and Mostar is only a short drive away. It's a basic site, but the warmth of the owners makes it a delightful experience we'll never forget.
