The Pet Butcher

I discovered The Pet Butcher only because I took a different route home and I'm so glad I did! My dogs are tiny toy poodles, survivors of a puppy farm. Their usual food was rice and rotting chicken frames and so they suffer a variety of health problems. In a few short weeks, the amazing healthy, tasty food they have been enjoying has visibly improved their intestinal health. Today they both insisted on coming inside and meeting the lovely staff, and of course enjoying treats! We are so grateful and happy to have added a weekly visit to their much-deserved enrichment.

What an awesome place and lovely people. We had the pleasure of meeting Karen and Declan today on our visit to the Pet Butcher. Living in Qld this was the first we’d seen or heard of the brand but if this store is anything to go by, they’d be a massive success over in our part of the world. Our dogs got to sample some treats and we walked out with a range of great value nibbles and meals! Highly recommend!

The staff at Ethelton provide the best customer service we have ever experienced!! Always cheerful, helpful, knowledgeable and extremely professional. They make superior quality pet food which our puppies love and great treats which are perfect for creating homemade dog birthday cakes!!

My pup Aiyana absolutely loves her food from here! Before we got a dog I thought a butcher just for dogs was so silly, but now it’s over a year later and we wouldn’t change a thing! The team at the Ethelton store are always so welcoming, lovely, professional, and informative! I have learnt so much about feeding my dog by coming here. Specifically about bones! They don’t force you to choose cooked or raw, or are pushy about products. They genuinely make recommendations based on experience and knowledge for what might be right for your pup. I love the friendly greetings and that Darylene and the boys always give my pup a little something something when we come in. Even if you’re on the fence, I encourage you to come in a give it a try. I’ve seen some reviews complaining about prices BUT we buy Aiyana’s food in bulk and freeze it, costs us about $40 a month? It depends what you buy and we actually find everything to be very reasonably priced given the work involved. I honestly cannot recommend this place and the staff enough. Nick and the team are legends!

A wonderful discovery in the Port Adelaide area, especially for those of us looking for alternative fresh pet meat supplies without preservatives following the recent closure of another supplier. Visiting Nick and his team here is like I imagine the good old fashioned service, greeting and chat that our grandparents experienced. I can't speak highly enough and it's a bonus when our dogs are welcome too.
Be warned though, their noses will be tempted. Not only the varied dried treats, cooked meatloaves that look like they belong in a David Jones food display or freshly minced varieties. Well done, pup and I look forward to visiting more often.

We had the kangaroo and now have the fish loaf and without hesitation she’s at her bowl for food.

We will certainly be back every fortnight for more loafs!

We have been going to the pet butcher since it first opened. The care that is taken with the food is exceptional. My older dog had significant issues & the food we gave him from the pet butcher made a massive improvement to his quality of life. My new puppy which is quite picky loves the food. The staff are friendly, knowledgeable & very pet focussed a great service.

Finally dropped a not the Pet Butcher, and so glad I did.
I was greeted with a tour of the shop by Daryl who is genuinely proud of his wide variety of offerings.
My greyhound has since tried all of the delicious food and loves it all!
Will be my new go to for sure.

A great selection of fresh, dried, smoked and frozen food for your pet. Staff are friendly, prompt, accomodating and seem to enjoy their work.
Arnold has tried all the nibbles and seems to rate the chicken sausages very highly.

The service is amazing so welcoming and friendly. My dog is on a medical diet and can only eat treats that are a single meat ingredient. She loves everything I have purchased and I know I am giving her the best options.

Always greeted with a friendly smile , from Darryl and Declan ,their customer service is outstanding. The quality of the food is always fresh and looks amazing and the cleanliness of the shop stands out ,you would think you were buying for the family BBQ, My dog loves me coming home with all her treats and knows when I've been to the pet butcher wouldn't buy food for my precious pooch anywhere else keep up the great work guys

Very high quality stuff!! My pups love the chicken jerky it’s not to hard and easily breakable which is perfect!! Very happy, highly recommend 🐾😊

Generous staff, with the best customer service. I’ve always had a friendly, considerate experience with staff giving advice should I ask for it! The store itself is very neatly set out and is cared for immaculately.

Fantastic variety and friendly staff. My boys love the meat loaf and mince varieties. The jumbo shark cartilage is a hit with my big guy and my little guy can’t run off with it because it doesn’t fit in his mouth :-) They last ages too. Highly recommend the Pet Butcher

Our first timing trying this place out last week and so glad we did. Our pup can be a bit fussy but he has devoured everything we bought. The kangaroo, beef and turkey meatloaves have been a huge hit with him. The service was brilliant too, helped me fit a new harness which is amazing. Definitely worth the trip!

Had a wonderful experience at the Pet Butcher on Henley Beach Road. Tania was extremely helpful and friendly. She lended me her cooler bag to keep the meals cold as I head back home to Mt Barker later this afternoon. The food is just brilliant and my extremely fussy little Jack Russell just loves the premium chicken, beef, and kangaroo meat.
