Avenue Bookstore on Swan Street, Richmond is one of the finest establishments I've been to. The staff are kind, friendly and extremely knowledgeable. Their selection is up to date and varied. Thank you, Avenue for lighting up many a moody day of mine.

This bookshop has been my safe haven as a newcomer to Melbourne and Australia as a whole. I've been able to get back into reading just because of this wonderful indie bookstore in my area. They have a fantastic selection of books and their employees are so wonderful and knowledgeable. Bo is definitely my favourite person here, as they make talking about book recommendations and ideas an absolute joy. 11/10 would recommend.

Fell into this store one day... Now a regular visit when travelling is a must-do! Such a great selection, and staff know their stuff.

A great curated selection of books, especially of children's books. Although we were shopping for ourselves today, I can imagine this would be a fantastic place to find a gift. They have a selection of stationery items also such as Moleskine journals. The team are very nice and happy to help find the perfect read.

Lovely feel to this shop, with wall-to-wall, floor-to-ceiling (I think--I don't know if I looked all the way up) bookshelves, well-stacked with beautiful editions of classics alongside high-end oversized collectors' pieces. I only got to visit twice briefly while working in Richmond recently, but will make the 20 minute tram ride out from the CBD any time I find myself back in Melbourne.

This is our favourite bookstore, we always buy books from here for ourselves or our darling grandchildren. There are a great variety of books or one can order any. The staff are friendly and very helpful. Thank you!!!

Fair priced lil local bookstore. A really great range of books

Really love this bookstore. You walk in and it feels and smells like a bookstore should. Super friendly and helpful staff. It's great shopping here for me, for gifts and shopping with my young daughter. Super glad she gets to experience a proper bookstore. The Avenue in Richmond is unquestionably my 'go to' and first recommendation.

Was recommended this store by a friend. Went in while taking a stroll and found some book-gems. Floor to ceiling book rack, really beautiful versions of books across all genres. The gentlemen behind the counter was also incredibly sweet. I think I'll be doing all my book shopping from here.

This bookstore is simply wonderful. They have an excellent edit of books across all genres. Don't get me started on the kids section, you'll find some absolute gems here that are timeless. The staff are delightful which is an absolute bonus!!

Avenue Bookstore is seriously such a great bookstore business! They issue rewards vouchers when you spend a certain amount of money - I had one from 2017, which they still happily honoured! They also found a book I wanted at their other location and managed to get it transferred within a few hours. All the staff are so helpful and friendly. Thank you for running such a wonderful business with outstanding customer service!

Really great place, I've only known it during covid-19 era. But you can call/email them and they will put together your order for quick collection, which is great when you can't be bothered waiting for your presents and books to come in the snail mail.

I’ve thrown these guys quite a few challenges since they moved into Swan Street -from soccer mad 8 and 11 year olds to 30 something bikepacking fans and they amaze me with their selection every time. More than spot on. Just excellent responses. They can do this on top of all the best sellers you would expect. They’ve also sourced hard to get ones for me. Can’t speak highly enough of the service and recommendations.

These guys are amazing. Wonderful store, wonderful service, wonderful people. Ordered online and delivered in less than 24 hours. Can't wait until I can get back into the store! Can't recommend highly enough.

Absolutely fabulous store with so much variety. Has saved me during COVID with amazing reads and a wonderful atmosphere. Went in and bought 8 books because it was too hard to decide.... and I usually NEVER have luck in book stores!!

Really lovely, proper book shop with a fabulous range of subjects, genres and classics.

So accomodating. The staff are all 'born to do it'. We go there with the kids most weekends and we feel very welcomed and looked after. The range of books are great.
