Leonard St. Northcote

I updated some pieces for my wardrobe pants and tops. This is a clothing store with expert advice on how to wear the clothes and being truthful in telling you what would suit you for all body shapes. Quality fabrics and the designs are unique and to me timeless. Worth every cent to pay for well made and designed clothing and having expert customer service. Also fantastic online service.

My mantra when entering Leonard St. (Northcote) every time is: "I will not buy more Leonard St. clothing." I have a 99% failure rate. As the woman zooming past me on New Years yelled out the window at me about my Manhattan Jeans: 'I LOVE your pants'. And to quote my best friend when I bought her in store: "I want to throw away my entire wardrobe and start over with everything here". Quality, colour, design, customer service - brilliant. I'm a fan. (It's not really subtle huh?)

I visited Leonard St, Northcote store on Sunday in search of a new outfit for a wedding in January. Marion looked after me and was absolutely fantastic. She really listened to me and came up with awesome suggestions and advice. I ended up with a gorgeous new outfit plus a beautiful new top. Thank you Marion. I have always had a great experience at Leonard St but nothing can compare to recently. Vicky went above an beyond helping me find an outfit and providing exception customer service after the fact.

Leonard St is one of my favourite Melbourne fashion labels. Their clothes are made to fit women of all shapes and sizes, the prints are fun and bright, and (most importantly), they run their business ethically. Materials are thoughtfully chosen to stand the test of time and they pay their staff (both in shops and factories) a fair wage. So I feel good and look good. Win!!

Marion at the high street northcote store was so helpful! Gave me honest advice, helped me find the right size, and then made sure it was at another store so I could go get the right pants! So friendly, felt bad I couldn’t buy the pants from this location! Now off to Gertrude st, Thanks so much :)

'cause i like their style and the Sales Person Anna seemed genuinely friendly. I bought a gorgeous skirt which everyone else agrees looks great!

Love my new block roll neck jumper and Erin (sales assistant) was very helpful and lovely.

Have been a happy customer of Leonard St for years, however Amanda's rigidity on exchanges and choice to ignore my personal messages has left me feeling like an undervalued customer. I have also found the quality of the clothing has also gone down hill, my Sage top has become fuzzy despite appropriate care and my black jumpsuit started unravelling at the seams after wearing it only a few times.

Whilst I love some of Leonard Sts designs, I was recently in one of the Melbourne stores and bore witness to the owner, chastising one of her staff to the point of it being a seemingly humiliating experience for the young staff member. Apparently she had not made enough sales and was being harangued by the owner to push for more sales. I was completely turned off by this experience especially witnessing what seemed to be a case of the owner, in her position of power. Bully a young staff member. Witnessing this made me question the labels so-called ethical production processes. I mean, wouldn’t you also want to extend the same ethical values to that of your staff. After this experience I will never shop at Leonard St again.

PS, to the owner who OK wrote the comment below. This is 100% real review. I have purchased an item there in the past but politely refused to go on the database as I do at most retail outlets because I don't like to be inundated with emails that I rarely have time to read. I hope you take on some of the feedback from my review to improve your attitude to staff.
