Derek has the best collection of dvds and vhs. It's such a pleasure to go there and browse the store, he's also super knowledgable, knows the shop like the back of his hand and is upkeeping such a great but dying tradition. Highly recommend this place if you love obscure, arthouse and cult movies or just interested in doing things the old school way.

A treasure trove of great films! At a time when you need 500 accounts for various streaming services it's a breath of nostalgic fresh air to go to one place that has it all.

Great place, bloke there is really nice. Plenty of deep cuts if you’re into that sort of thing. A must-visit for film buffs especially younger students who may have missed out on the peak of video rentals.

Not enough space, idiosyncratic owner, step on a few records kept on the floor if you aren't careful, record stock completely crammed into shelves, absolutely perfect.

The dvd selection is enormous, I am definitely considering buying a dvd player so that I can dive into some cinematic gems.

On a cold Tuesday night in Melbourne, I made my way, once again. to this fine store. Hoping it was still open, I was thrilled to find it was. The perfect place to nestle yourself into and around its winding shelves on a Winter's night when there is nothing of it's kind nearby or even open. Full of gems and all maintained by the knowledgeable owner who was nice enough to write down, by hand, a comprehensive list of titles, that I required for my collection. Thank you. I love dropping in to this shop and getting recommendations from the owner, who will put a note on what you might like to watch in the future, on your computer file . Great way to learn about new films and also to have a robust conversation about cinema. Thanks for being there for the in real life community at all hours of the day.

My favourite store in all of Melbourne. Not only is Picture Search the last bastion of video rentals, but Derek's knowledge is second to none. If you want the best movie selection (possibly in Australia) this is the place to go. Oh and they sell vinyl too.

Wow! This place is AMAZING. I walked past many times, thought to myself "I should take a look". Today, I went in, it was a long and fruitful visit. SO MANY DVD's, so many genres, huge foreign film section, very helpful and friendly guy behind the counter. I found an Italian film that I've wanted to watch for ages and rented it for the week. I'll be back...

Probably one of the last VHS rental stores in Australia but don't worry, they have DVDs for rent too - with all the classic Weekly deals!

Staff are knowledgable and have most movies you would be looking for, even the obscure varieties. Family/Arthouse/Documentaries/Drama/Animation.. they've got so much! Wander through the tunnels of DVDs and VHS! Super nostalgic and it's like stepping back in time.

I've been super tired of sifting through Google for movies to watch or Netflix aimlessly sifting through bad old movies or the latest hot series - nothing beats exploring the myriad of covers and blurbs from old blockbusters to indie arthouse. And if you're out of ideas, ask one of the staff about the kind of movie you're looking for - they always have recommendations.

We stumbled across this fantastic DVD and record shop. It was such a nostalgic experience in one of the last ever DVD shops! The collection of vinyls were amazing - definitely would recommend.

This place has every DVD you can think off...and blue ray.... when blockbuster went under... thank God they left this place alone!!!

This place is one of a kind, the staff are amazingly helpful and knowledgable. They also have almost 10x the selection of Australian Netflix. One of the coolest businesses I've seen in my time in Melbourne.
