Appears Croydon is the warehouse and has most items in stock. Do yourself a favour & order online first. It's painful doing an order over the counter.

Purchased a laptop and needed extra RAM. Ordered and paid online with no hassle. Picked up RAM, took it home to fit, just to find it was 'incompatible' despite being the actual RAM recommended by both Crucial and Corsair....

Had the good fortune to be served by both Michael and Owen at MSY/Umart Adelaide. Both gentleman provided superior customer service, and let me purchase, then try, different RAM, refunding me if the installed RAM was 'incompatible' (Damn Acer laptops...)

Whilst I was there fiddling with my laptop, I saw dozens of customers come in for parts pick up and everyone was served immediately, with a smile, from both gentlemen who were helping me.

I strongly recommend MSY/Umart for their superior customer service and great pricing. Anyone looking for computer hardware is seriously doing themselves a disservice if they don't make MSY/Umart their first and only computer parts retailer.

Excellent customer service at MSY Umart Croydon. Wanted a new system, had basic requirements, staff extremely helpful with design of system to what I needed, considered compatibility risks with sub systems and performance trade offs, optimised design for my performance requirements and value for money. Asked them to build for $99, picked up system, perfect. Professional, friendly, knowledgeable and good communication. Very highly recommend.

Umart bought MSY, and it change to an online store, which doing "CLICK and COLLECT" most of the time, you more than welcome to walk in the store and purchase an item, but no cash, Umart is an online store. All the available items is showing on the website. Pretty handy and friendly staff there.

Although the ordering system is electronic, I find it useful and easier that walking through aisles or relying on staff for recommendations.

Great place to source computer components and built systems etc. The staff are very helpful but it's good if you understand and know what you want.

I rang to see if they had in stock a specific usb cable. The phone call was very helpful giving me all details I required without me having to ask. Saying 'Croydon had the cable and Grote Street did not' also they don't deal in cash only card for purchases. Service was very slow at Croydon but I was grateful to be able to purchase the product.
Sounds very different to previous reviews I must say. Maybe business policy has changed . Be patient and give them a try.

If you know exactly what you want to buy, the online purchase system, followed by the collection is easy.

The downside was that I called the store and got put through to a call centre (I'm guessing based in the Philippines). The people there did not know what the products actually do. Then I sent a follow up email. The person who answered gave me wrong information. It was frustrating.

Also, when collecting items, the driveway is not very well signed, so it's easy to miss when in traffic. It's almost directly after the OTR.

They’ve been bought out by Umart and this is a new warehouse. I went to pick up my online order there and it was efficient plus the prices are low as always but similar to MSY it really is a place that you get things from if you know what you want. The person giving out orders is just a courier not an IT person. I did struggle trying to find the little parking lot (there is a Umart sign by the side of the road)

Good service, huge range but having to order online regardless of whether you are there or not is a bit cumbersome. Strongly suggest you need to decide what you want and place your order and wait for collection email Prior to going. You will have to do so anyway even if you're there.

I was in the area and thought I would pop into the store (which is also a U-mart?) to grab a component I needed while saving on delivery costs/time and avoid having to sign up on their website.

Now in a normal store you can walk in, grab what you want, use paywave, cash or whatever and be on your way. I walked in thinking thats how it would go only to find they don't do that here. I was told I needed to use my phone or one of their computers to order click and collect on their website, which required signing up and giving them information like phone, email, card information (as I said I was trying to avoid this) in order to get an order number for what I was trying to buy. From there its simply scan the barcode that they email you then wait around a few minutes for them to get the order ready.

I'm sure this is great and all for customer's who love doing things online but for those that don't its an extreme annoyance that makes me hesitant to do business here again. I got what I wanted in the end, but the whole process felt silly, rigid, and a waste of time as what should have only taken about 2 minutes took about 20. I went to an MSY in Queensland years ago and it wasnt like this at all. I guess things have changed but not for the better.

Just let me buy the thing! Your staff are nice but the fact this store is set up for pick up only and has 0 ability to make any transactions outside of online is infuriating. 3 people currently waiting in store for pick ups they had to make from the computers here which for an equipment company has the world's slowest internet. Everything about this place is cumbersome and unnecessary. Even the type your order in at the door only to walk 2metres to the desk and have them ask for it again as it didn't come across properly.

What's the point of having the convenience of a store if you can't make a transaction! *Instant pick up* also means 20min wait.

My recent shopping experience with MSY was less than satisfactory. I purchased a computer case that was advertised on their website as being compatible with my components, but the reality proved otherwise. Despite technical compatibility, the case could not practically house my ASUS RTX 4090 graphics card and H150i cooler. Even without the H150i, the side cover cannot be closed due to the issue with the RTX4090 power cable. I believe this information should have been clearly stated on their website.

Communication with MSY has also been disappointing. The customer service responses were slow, often requiring a full day for a single reply, prolonging the resolution process. When they did respond, they seemed to overlook the practical issues I faced, focusing only on technical specifications. Despite a week of back-and-forths, I received no practical solutions.

Furthermore, I was asked to pay a 20% restocking fee for returning the case, which I believe is unfair given that the issues stemmed from a lack of clarity on their website.

Overall, my experience with MSY was frustrating and time-consuming. I hope they can improve their product descriptions and customer service for future customers.
