Bowden Cellars

Bowden Cellars has become my go-to local favourite bar. I keep going back for the varied and ever-changing wine list and the friendly and knowledgeable staff who always make great recommendations. I also appreciate the relaxed and comfortable atmosphere, which makes it perfect for catching up with friends or unwinding after a long day.

One of the things that sets Bowden Cellars apart is the food provided by Caroclub. While their burgers are often talked about as the best in South Australia, for me, the standout dish is their steak special. It's one of the best and most affordable steaks I've ever had. The meat is always cooked to perfection, and the sides are perfectly paired with the dish. The quality of the food, combined with the excellent wine selection, makes Bowden Cellars a must-visit destination for foodies and wine lovers alike. I can't recommend this place enough.

Great mixed space for a variety of events, Brewery, Cafe, Cellars, plant shop. A wonderful use of creative space.

Great little bottle shop in Bowden that sells wines from small producers in the Adelaide hills that otherwise don’t have there own cellar. They also got a great selection of Lo-Fy wines & some of the bigger Wineries from the Adelaide Hills. Give this place a try to checkout some of the smaller producers and give them your support.

Frankly Gin had a sensational launch event held on Australian Gin Day 2021 at Bowden Cellars. Josh, Denise, Dale, Georgia and the crew were amazing. The space was perfect from the entry display, specialised cocktails and morsels for Frankly, our VIP space on the mezzanine and bottle sales supporting FoodbankSA. If it's local beer selection and great service you've found your place. Spoke to Josh about organizing alcohol for a wedding and the service him and Dale gave was over and above. Wish I had found them sooner but will definitely go through them in the future!

Cool little venue with lovely staff and easily the best chicken burger I've had in a very long time! Greet selection of local beers and wines too. Definitely worth a visit!

We experienced Bowen Cellars by chance last year when visiting from Sydney. We can not recommend them more highly. Josh, the owner, is passionate, welcoming and unpretentious. His passion for and knowledge of SA wines is evident. We have had to opportunity to sample wines from small vineyards without cellar doors that we would never have had the opportunity to sample otherwise. Bowen Cellars customer service is exemplary and I would recommend them to anyone. You can also grab a great bite to eat and glass of wine by the glass such as Tappanappa Piccadilly Valley Chardonnay.

Really cool space and very warm and welcoming staff. Enjoyed the Kiwi Gin Smash cocktail. Yum!

Highly recommend the Friday afternoon free tasting sessions with a different independent producer each week.

Last night I celebrated my 27th birthday an this fabulous venue, I was so impressed with the whole experience. Organising a table of 22 girlfriends was made super easy by Josh, he let me book the upstairs mezzanine which we all loved!
Food and drinks were equally amazing and all the staff we just so friendly and warm! :)

Great space, great food. Highly recommend the spicy chicken burger. Friendly and helpful staff. Cobbs Hill Estate was onsite offering tastings on the night we visited, which was a nice experience prior to purchasing some wine from the bottle shop. Great selection of some more boutique style wines along with some everyday favourite bevvies.

Friend wanted to check this place out so we google mapped directions which took us to Bowden. A little tricky to find but we were determined. We entered from the hair salon side and never noticed of the signage at top of the large windows. Nice venue tucked in the back away from the crowds and noise from Plant 4. Tantalising food selection with sizeable portions. Definitely check this place if you find yourself in Bowden.

BC offers a fantastic range of wines, beers and spirits (ONLY from South Australia!) which can be purchased over the bar to enjoy in the beautiful and unique space they've designed, or the local drops can be purchased in their bottle shop to take away and enjoy in the comfort of your own home! Further, the bottle shop is conveniently open 7 days and continues to operate during lockdowns (VERY MUCH NEEDED!)! I HIGHLY recommend the Moonglow Rosé by Dewey Station!

Don't even get me started on the DELICIOUS food provided by CAROclub! I'd have to say these are the best burgers I've ever tasted, which is saying a lot because I'm obsessed with burgers! I've probably had about 7 burgers since they opened... I can't get enough! Thankfully, CAROclub operates during lockdowns as well (fingers crossed we'll have no more lockdowns though!).

Best of all, the staff are incredibly knowledgeable and friendly!

I highly recommend checking out BC and making it your local spot! BC is heavily community focused and a one-stop shop for all of your favourite local wines and beverages, yummy food, and wine tasting experiences!
