Really lovely welcoming coffee shop with books on sale. Bought two books for my grandson. The young lady making the coffees is very friendly and accommodating too, so good to see a smiling face, not often do you see happy people especially in retail. Keep smiling dear!!!

Sometimes in life, you need a little pick up. I picked up the book I’d ordered from the Chestnut Tree Bookshop, and when I got home, it was like unwrapping a present. There was the book I’d ordered, as well as a free bookmark, a beautiful little Chestnut Tree sticker and two Reading guides. I felt really pampered with all these goodies. This is a great shop with a huge range of books.

Such a beautiful place to be surrounded with books, and you can order coffee and cakes to read the books too.

I can stay there all day, but unfortunately they close at 4pm on the week day.

TCT are committed to the environment and have partnered with One Tree Planted, pledging to plant one native tree in the bushfire-affected areas of Australia for every book sold. To date they have planted 18738 trees! 🌳

They run some incredible events through the month including Story Time for the kids every Monday morning, book clubs, author events and readings. These are listed on their website and socials so follow them to keep up to date. 📚

It has a really great variety of books & puzzles to choose from - Gift wrapping available too.
There is indoor spots with lil nooks to read in peace & outdoor seating to enjoy some sunshine.

My partner and I frequently come here. The shop itself is gorgeous. They have a variety of books, vinyls, and a cafe, all of which are presented beautifully. We come here to study as the place is usually quiet and has a cozy vibe to it. Chestnut is definitely our favourite bookshop.

Lovely small bookshop. I had a difficult request for them, as I was looking fir a book for a young woman with an intellectual disability. The woman who served me was excellent - thoughtful in her suggestions and very generous with her time.

Delighted to have an independent bookshop local to me! Beautiful space, an eclectic and interesting book selection, and the owner Reem is warm and friendly. Love the one book bought = one tree planted concept. Will be back, keen to try the great looking coffee and hot choc next time.

A nice and cosy bookshop with the bonus of a in built cafe. I had the pleasure of having an amazing cappuccino, the magic in their coffee is the brand of milk a specialised jersey cows milk, it's to die for. I will come back just for this coffee let alone the long list of books that jumped up wanting to come home with me!

We feel lucky to have this warm, welcoming spot in the neighbourhood. Great selection of vinyl and books for all ages and particularly excellent hot chocolate. Even just looking through the window makes our walks around the area so much more interesting.

Words can't describe this extraordinary spot in the heart of Footscray💓 for all the years I have been here, my only wish was to enter a bookshop with such a calming atmosphere, with a piece of light music, and indulge in a cup of coffee 💓 shout out to the creator of this amazing spot and the great staff who made my day💓 NAILED IT
