When we (my mom) and I started our trip on the Great Ocean Road, we were convinced it wasn't going to be a culinary experience as it was offseason and none of the guidebooks said anything specific about the food. So we decided to blindly walk into the first place that presented itself and were absolutely and pleasantly surprised! I can say that this was some of the best (if not the best) French food I've ever had - the French onion soup in particular is to die for. It also doesn't hurt that the young staff are adorably nice and helpful. We went there a second time on the way back, and if life ever brings me back to Victoria, it will be on my list. <3 love from austria

Cute little place serving french cuisine, glad we found this on our trip on the great ocean road. Our waiter was fantastic, we really enjoyed the confit duck, the seafood pastry, duck fat potato and asparagus. We also tried the pastries, loved the basque cheesecake and lemon tart. The pain au chocolat would be even better if it was warmed up a bit!

Try this little french cousine restaurant at great ocean road and enjoy every single second of it. We had such a great time Just found this beautiful place on the way back home. My french partner is usually quite judgy on french restaurants but this one ticked all the boxes, it felts like gran' food loved it.

Best restaurant on the GOR, the food was delicious and the staff very friendly and professional. We went for dinner and came back in the morning to try their amazing pastries. The cassoulet is a must-try.

The service, food and coffee was so good we simply had to return.Whilst it was very busy over an autumn long weekend the team delivered friendly efficient service, great coffee and food. A casual friendly French ambiance prevailed over some wonderful dishes, pastries and baguettes!

Le Comptoir: A Little Gem on the Great Ocean Road

Living in Torquay, we've been fortunate to discover Le Comptoir, a restaurant that's quickly become a favorite of ours. Over the past two months, my wife and I have dined here four times, and she has even made an extra visit with her girlfriends.

Le Comptoir offers an authentic European experience right on the Great Ocean Road. The food is exceptional, each dish prepared with care and bursting with flavor. The staff are friendly and attentive, adding to the warm and welcoming ambiance of the place.

We truly love everything about this little gem and can’t wait for our next visit. If you're in the area, Le Comptoir is a must-try!

Had the most fantastic cullinary experience for my Birthday at Le Comptoir. We were greeted by delightful staff and Yuri was an exceptional host and Maitre De. Food and courses were superb, almost bringing back the quintessensial Feeling of Dining in a Fancy Parisien Restaraunt but with the beautifal back drop of The Aireys Light House, Blue Oceans and Sky. Entrees, Aperitifs, Mains and accompniants were delectable. Only took of a star for service due to an unfortunate delay with the Baguettes with the Chicoutary selection and also not getting the Gravalax as an entree. Many Stand out Dishes, great atmosphere but perhaps a little cramped for the table setting. The Filet de Pork, Quiche and Beef, Rosbif, along with the deserts, Lava Cake and wine selection were a real standout Highly, or most positively recommend to a visit to this fine establishment. Beautiful unpretentious Food at its best, Do yourself a flavour!

I highly recommend this restaurant to everyone. The staff are top notch. The food is delicious, with homemade dishes. I haven't eaten in such a good restaurant for a long time. A culinary trip to France.

Brilliant find in Aireys Inlet perfect coffee food and wonderful French style desserts

I had heard about this little local gem and it didn’t disappoint. I popped in way after lunch and was greeted by the super friendly Megan extraordinaire. Megan really went out of her way to sort a tedious little dietary requirement. I’m very grateful. Baguette was divine, cake to die for and the circus juice was a great recommendation. So happy to have stopped by and will defo make this my pit stop when along the great ivean road. 10/10

Exceptional. Worth the trip. Any time of day, you’re in for great service, delicious food and drink, and a wonderful atmosphere. Plus, it’s genuinely French. Accents everywhere.

This was wonderful. Very simple menu and very attentive service in a great location. Very popular for lunch but we had dinner. Both of us had chicken vol au vents and roasted Brussel sprouts as well as a roast tomato with soft fluffy cheese. Yum!

Magnific the onion soup the carrot and duck all home made French perfection 👌

You can't get a 3/4 strength, extra hot, low fat ,goats milk, cappuccino with extra chocolate sprinkles and a marshmallow…. But a great regular coffee is what goes best with amazing deli produce. Love it!
