Copperfield Gorge

Copperfield Gorge is definitely worth seeing. It’s an impressively different serial landscape where a lava flow has been weathered and cut through by the river. Creating some very photographic opportunities. There are also great water holes for swimming. And to top it off, it’s literally right across the street from the pub. It is like a forty minute detour off the highway on a good dirt Rd but well worth it.

Amazing place. Only a couple of people around and it was nice wandering around. There was a sandy area at one end but we didn’t go down there to explore. Would be great to spend a few hours there exploring

Large and expanded camp ground. Mostly drive through powered sites. Good clean facilities Various tours available. Walk and boat ride up gorge. Paddle board up gorge or 4 different helicopter flights.

The Copperfield Gorge is well set up for exploring the end of the Lava tubes. We enjoyed seeing the water and the railway bridge. With Love and Divine Light. Robert Vicary

Was here quite a while ago now, & was quite amazing as it had really good storms around the area in the catchment so was flowing very well, so was a awesome sight to see & throughly recommend it for any to have a good look, I went out across the rocks to be able to get a good look at it flowing for some photos & video.

Pretty place to stop and explore.

We only had a short time there as we did the half day Bus Train trip. It would have been great to be to stay there longer and have a swim.

Close to the town of Einasleigh the gorge just appears out of nowhere. Crystal clear water and stunning views.

Absolutely wonderful site. It was a cool wet day which was very nice.

Beautiful place, not many people that makes it even better

If U like laid back and not touristy this is the place to go. Unfortunately einasleigh has no coffee shops or restaurants (the local pub only sells alcohol) we stayed at Silks caravan park very very basic but showers and toilets.

Another beautiful gorge.! So nice and even better if you visit just after the wet, our visit was at the end so the water was a bit green.
Visit the Pub is a must do, have a beer and check out the character of the bar.
