Great Portions Size! Definitely will fill you right up! We came and get some takeaway but there are 2 tables and chairs just outside which is convenient!
Definitely recommended this spot if you are looking for something to fill you up right!

We got the Calamari Pack - really good breading on the calamari, huge portion of chips, 1/4 portion of Chicken & Chips - sadly gravy was too salty for our liking and the chicken was a lil dry + lacked flavour, Potato Cakes - was under seasoned and had a doughy texture. Service was really great, so was the atmosphere. We would come back to try the nuggets and schnitzel!

Best fish and chip takeaway in Port Fairy. Really good value, fresh produce, very well cooked, fish was delicious and potato cakes were next level. Perfectly crispy on the outside and soft and fluffy on the inside. Their salads looked amazing. We will be back!

What great value and great tasting meal this was. To take away, I ordered a Schnitzel Creamy Pack, which comprised of a large Schnitzel, roast pumpkin, peas, corn, scallop potatoes and gravy. The meal was large enough for two people. The Red Hen at 41 Sackville St, Port Fairy is right in the heart of town. The staff were quick, friendly and attentive. I placed my order, and the meal was ready in no time. If you want a flavourful meal I could recommend a trip to these guys and gals.

Fantastic value and great quality. We shared a 1/2 roast chook pack with creamy potatoes and veg, with gravy $21.50. Delicious and heaps for two of us.

If you find yourself passing through Port Fairy, don't miss the chance to stop at The Red Hen. We stopped passed on the way through on a weekend away and it was one of the highlights of what was a very enjoyable weekend. You'd be silly not to try the chicken, I'll say much 😂 plus the service from Rach and the crew was awesome, and it was very well priced. We will be adjusting our course in future to visit again 👌🏻

We head to Port Fairy once a year during the Port Fairy Folk Festival and this is the place that I really look forward to. Their salads are absolutely delicious, servings are very generous and the price so reasonable. Definitely recommend this place when you’re heading that way.

We add fish and chips and half chicken and salad and everything was delicious. Generous portions, everything super good, tasty and cheap price for what you have. I definitely recommend.

Friendly chicken shop, takeaway, or a few cafe tables to eat there. I had flathead tails and two salads, fresh fish and big serves.
