Gregory's Cafe Restaurant

This was the best meal so far in five weeks of travelling through Australia. I had the barramundi dish which was posted as one of the evening's specials. It was absolutely delicious, served along with scalloped potatoes and mixed vegetables. Service was excellent.

Excellent food. Good quality and portion. Very delicious with lots of flavour.

Staff are nice and accommodating.
We went there on a short notice but the lady is nice enough to give us a table although they were fully booked.

Certainly recommend it to everyone to try this restaurant and I will definitely return to this restaurant.

Had Scotch fillet steak with garlic sauce, salad and chips and t bone steak with same . Gin and tonic and beer. Absolutley tender and tasty. Everything was delicious . Service was fantastic, great atmosphere. Was very busy with only 2 serving tables yet they still managed to give quality service. Loved it . Would have gone back second night,but they were closed .Reasonably priced great portion sizes.

Gregory's, accommodated us for 20+ people and had 5 star reviews all round. I could not recommend them enough.

We were a walk in but got a table on a Friday night just before it got busy. The staff were super efficient, which was no small feat given there were only two of them in the whole restaurant. Food was great - fresh, tasty and a little bit different.

Lovely to find a restaurant in a tourist location which isnt out to rip you off for the pleasure of a meal. The service was great the food was great. The pricing very reasona le. I had the steak which was perfectly cooked. My sons had the steak and the other had the pasta carbonara from the kids menu. My wife had the sizzling sea food plater. Only criticism is the kids steak didnt have veggies and i thought the rice was a weird choice hidden under the seafood platter. But i wouldnt let either of these issues prevent a visit.

Gregory’s was a pleasant surprise. We were a group of 4 and intitialy were reluctant to go in. Once in we found the service staff freindly and knowledgeable, after sussing us out the obvious owner sat down and had a chat. This was acceptable and refreshing in the circumstances and characterised the atmosphere of the restaurant. The wine list was very limited but the selection covered most tastes, with the notable a sense of cider. This is not unique however. The drink prices were acceptable.The food we ordered was taken efficiently and delivered promptly without error. The writer had a t bone, my wife and Judy the Atlantic salmon with Bob having the Flake and chips. All was fresh and cooked well as requested. The service throughout the evening was pleasant and efficient with us being sufficiently comfortable to order desert. Comment must be made of the congenial owner who was a compulsive joke teller, funny and unobjectionable ever to the perpetually offended by the slightest remark. All in all a rewarding night better than we expected and cannot be the same operators as those incurring the wrath of customers in past years. We will certainly revisit when in Port Fairy again.

My family and I thoroughly enjoyed our meal’s tonight. The food was really delicious. I highly recommend the lamb shanks. The staff were very informative and offered fantastic recommendations and the atmosphere was quiet and relaxing. We will be back again - often. Thanks for a splendid meal.

What an amazing restaurant. Every selection had their own spin. Very friendly owners who supplemented the excellent food with background information on the food and the area. Well priced.

Wonderful experience dining in last night. Our wait staff were friendly, attentive and informative. The pork belly was so delicious, gravy to die for. The seafood curry was aromatic, fresh and super tasty. Had a lovely rainy evening spent dining, already planning the next visit.

Good food with generous portions - I had the Salt & Pepper Squid - here it is half eaten already ! If you’re at Port Fairy, definitely give it a go.

Value for money, beyond 10/10, serves are big and food is delicious. Very friendly, helpful staff and quick service. A very welcoming venue. Acoustics a little loud if full, but can still hear each other speak at your table and I just took it that everyone was having a great time.
Certainly would go back when next in PF and looking forward to it

Had a wonderful evening meal. Food was very scrumptious and a hearty serving. The vegetarian option was tasty and fresh and delicious, the pork belly was fabulous. The staff were attentive and not overbearing, and very helpful and pleasant. Definitely return when next in that region.

One of the best meals we have ever had! Came from the kitchen very promptly, staff were incredibly friendly. Price was very fair! Definitely will be coming back when we return to Port Fairy

A lovely meal, great staff, good range of wines etc. It's not often that we experience such an excellent combination of food, staff and location, but these guys did it for us. We were a party of 4 on a Saturday night, with one of the wait staff not presenting for shift. The ladies nailed it and we'll certainly be back (from Melbourne).

Excellent meal. Good service friendly atmosphere. The chef's chicken breast was very tasty. The mixed seafood wok was one of the best ever. We've eaten in some of the best restaurants in Lygon St but the food here was the best we've had in Victoria.

Beautiful and welcoming cafe and restaurant located in the heart of cute Port Fairy. Delicious hearty dishes, fresh daily specials, buzzing coffee, top teas and eat-you-heart-out cakes... nom nom nom

Just Wow!!!
My husband and I were visiting from the Mornington Peninsula. We had tried other local eateries with very poor results. Disappointing.
Walked in here at 8 pm tonight, knowing we were pushing our luck midweek. Offered a table and were not rushed.
Beer, cider and wine specials, all great prices.
Tasting share board for entree was fabulous. Best prawn samosa and stuffed mushrooms.
My husband had the gnocchi special. Prawns, chirozo and bacon. I had the Otway Pork Belly.
Both full of flavour and truly the best meals we have had in a long time. We eat out several times a week.
We will definitely be back.
