Highly recommend the tour. Our guide Ricky was very knowledgeable and entertaining.
It’s hard to comprehend that so many bottles of wine were once stored here. The drives are incredible.

Such an informative and visually stunning tour. Walking through a myriad of tunnels where millions of bottle were once stored was incredible. Even if you’re not a wine lover, this is still worthy of a stop, particularly for the beef burgandy pie!!
Thankyou to Colin and other staff members for making it such a great experience!

Had the best tour here, tour guide was so Knowledgeable yet fun and a great sense of humor. The drives are amazing and the story is cool but the sparkling shiraz.... amazing! I don't like much champagne but this is beautiful. Definitely worth a visit.

Well worth a stop in at Seppelt. Highly recommend the tour of the facilities, including the 3.2km underground tunnels. Special mention to Ricky, who took great care of us!

Absolutely fantastic. The underground tour is well worth doing. Colin, our tour guide, was so knowledgeable, funny and really engaging. We loved learning about the history of the cellar and construction of the drives. To top it off the wines were stunning - we had to leave with a wide selection as choosing only a few was too hard. We had a lovely cheese board which went along with our wines perfectly. A great spot to visit.

If you are in the Grampians region this is a must do.

The tour of the historical winery was so interesting.

Our tour guide Ricky, was so friendly and helpful. He made the experience informative and fun. His knowledge of the history of the winery was amazing and his ability to speak to the group was incredible.

Thank you Ricky for making our large group tour such a memorable experience.

The tour is $22 and goes for about 1 hour and you will be guided through the historically underground cellar tunnels and wine making facilities.

It includes a tasting of some of their most famous wines and the sparkling Shiraz is truly unique.

The deep dive dinner includes 3 courses served in the cellar tunnels with unlimited wines. Delicious food and such friendly service. Thank you Ricky. You made our experience at Seppelt truly memorable. 😊

The underground tour at Seppelt Great Western is really incredibly interesting and very well led by Ricky. They have 3 kilometres of underground tunnels (called drives) which were dug over a period of 60 years, mostly by gold miners who were no longer finding gold. The tunnels were used for housing 3 million bottles of sparkling wine! These days the bottles are stored elsewhere and the tunnels are part of a museum. They also do dinners in an underground dining room which would be awesome.

The tasting following the tour was great - - it included 4 different styles of sparkling wine. Personally I loved the sparkling Shiraz. Additionally you can taste other Seppelt wines for $10 or a premium tasting for $25

It is a magical thing to do, full of history in a wonderful little Victorian town, called Great Western. It’s only 2 hours & 20 minutes from Melbourne. Well worth the trip.

We had a wonderful time on our Underground tour today with friends and with our wonderful guide Colin who had a great knowledge of the history of Seppelt Winery. The tunnels were amazing and the whole tour was much better than we expected and would even had wine and champagne tastings at the end, included in the price. A wonderful day and would do it again

The highlight was the tour and our tour guide Ricky who was extremely enthusiastic and funny. Very interesting and unique tour of the cellar. I highly recommend it as it's really impressive.
The tour is $22 including tasting. It lasts 1h.
Unfortunately the sparkling wine wasn't really good for my personal taste.

We had a group booking tour of Seppelts with Ricky as our guide. The tour was interesting and Ricky gave us a lot of information about the history of the place. Following this we had our wine tasting which we thoroughly enjoyed and Ricky was fabulous as our host during the entire afternoon. Strongly encourage all lovers of wine and history to join the tour and wine tastings, it was a highlight of our weekend spent in Ararat.

I had the pleasure of visiting this winery, and Ricky was truly exceptional. His knowledge and personal touch added so much to the experience. Learning about the region's history and the winery's inner workings was fascinating. Ricky's expertise truly elevated the cellar door visit. The underground tunnels were truly awesome, you can truly feel the history down there. It's definitely worth a vist. My only suggestion would be to seamlessly blend the old-world charm of the tunnels with a more modern cellar door/venue. This place has all the elements to become a world-class venue. The staff, the wines, and the rich history are fantastic. Hats off to the family leasing the cellardoor.

The underground wine cellar tour was such a wonderful experience. Our tour guide Ricky was very informative and friendly. The history of the winery is very interesting. Tour was followed by a tasting of the beautiful Seppelt wines (which of course we purchased some!) and a beautiful lunch from the Cafe. Highly recommended!

What an exceptional tour. The guide was fantastic, funny and adaptable. My wife has bilateral cochlear and he kept checking in to make sure she could hear and was next to her most the time. The wine tasting was great too. Those tunnels have more history than you might think. Be aware there are stairs into cellar they are 2 flights of 10 ish stairs. And nowhere to sit on tour after initial talk.
