The local council should have the track maintained. This is the only beach access to a beautiful safe beach. It's all been blocked by land owners from Cape Liptrap lighthouse to lower Tarwin. We should start a petition to have the track opened and maintained there is a car park for about twenty cars at the end.
Open the Five mile track please. Unless the land owners are on the concil board

A wild place. The walking track is overgrown in places. The beach is wide and deserted.

It needs to be renamed “Treachery Track”. I just hiked it for the third time (first time in 2016 then the last time was 2021) and it’s soooo overgrown. There is no way a vehicle could get down there even if the gate was open. Hiking it was tough. Lots and lots of blackberries. Watch for snakes too (of course). A machete would have been useful (just for the blackberries). Even getting down to the beach from the grassy campsite is tough and hard to find the path. Well worth it though! A peaceful night under the stars after a perfect swim ✨
