German Bake and Wurst House

Been wanting to try for years, but heard mixed reviews. Glad we finally did. Delightful owner, cheese kransky was the nicest German sausage of any description we've EVER eaten. Salads fresh and delicious. Delightful cake selection, hot coffee. Great surroundings, scrupulously clean. Will be back regularly now ...

The baked treats were amazing! Easily the best I've enjoyed in Queensland! The hospitality shown to us was incredible as well. Definitely worth your time to stop by for a cake and a coffee!

Lovely little place just off the highway. The portion sizes looked modest but were very filling, with the potato bake the most delicious delicious - the kids enjoyed their meals too. Everything (including the service) was cheerful and low fuss. Definitely worth a stop as there isn’t many places around like this in the area.

I drove an hour from Brisbane to try some German bratwurst I can say it is worth the drive. I ordered the big bratwurst with potato bake which is one of the best I've ever had! The coffee and cherry crumble slice was delicious to finish off with.

The staff here are very friendly too.

Just down the Toowoomba range is a fantastic German Bake and Wurst House at Helidon Spa. Tucked away just off the highway this place is immaculate. Beautiful gardens (even in this drought), lots of parking and a big undercover shady area overlooking the garden.

We enjoyed some giant tasty German sausages (as you can see one spilled over the plate) 😂. I enjoyed every single mouthful of the fluffy light marshmallow and lemon curd cake - not overly sweet and I couldn't talk while I was eating it because it was so yummy. Washed down with delicious coffee. All the bread and cakes here are made with organic ingredients!!

Our 10 year old son Ned, LOVED the lentil soup, it was delicious, thick and creamy. Excellent coffee and fast customer service. Absolutely worth the drive (and be sure to take some of the delicious bread home with you!)

Tucked away amongst a beautiful country setting with a delectable choice of savoury and sweet delights The German Bake & Wurst house is a unique culinary experience. I had the Knackwurst with sauerkraut, potato bake and coleslaw, for under $10. The combination of flavours complemented each other and was an absolute delight. Followed by the apple crumble with a dollop of cream that was not too rich nor again expensive, while my wife had the mocha cake. Service was sincerely hospitable and the dining area's décor complete with LED lights and photos added to the charm. I couldn't recommend this experience any higher and encourage all to pay a visit to enjoy this meticulously clean and distinctive German Bake & Wurst House.

Lunching here is such a treat!! Whether it is a wurst and potato bake or one of the delicious soups on offer, cake for dessert is a must! Today I had soup and it was so much better than the gourmet soup I had at the Art Galllery recently!! Thank you, Andrea. 😊👩‍🍳

The Toowoomba flower carnival is my excuse to visit this cakeshop every year. IMHO, they have the best cakes in SE Queensland. My favourite are the mixed berry sponge cake, hazelnut fresh cream sponge and the passionfruit marshmallow lemon curd cake, low sugar and refreshingly delicious.

I was born and spent some years growing up in Germany. This brought me so much joy!!! So authentic, so tasty! Can't wait to be back!

Thank you to Andrea and staff for going above and beyond for Michael's 70th birthday and retirement celebrations! They were very accommodating and welcoming of our large family. Food and cakes were beyond delicious too. Well worth the short trip down the range to the bakehouse. Thank you again!

We enjoyed a drive to the German Bake and Wurst House as an adventure with the kids. Set on a beautiful property, we enjoyed three delightful cakes and juicy sausage on a crusty roll and creamy potato bake. If you’re looking for a little road trip, or a pit stop enroute to the range, I highly recommend it. Reasonably priced, friendly service and good food.

My husband it was missing some food from his home (Germany) and we drove 2 hours to this place and I can tell you.... This place is fantastic! The ladies are beyond friendly, the place itself its spotless and cozy and lets not get into the food because I will be here for hours! Of course I had some desert and the passion fruit cake as well as the lemon cake it was the best desert I ever had in Australia with no exaggeration (and I live a little bit everywhere). Honestly, just go there! Fantastic

Really pleasant setting. Old school cakes which aren’t loaded with sugar, best sponge I’ve had since my grandma stopped baking. Bread was divine. Asked for a loaf to take home with us. Good prices, family budget friendly.
