Avenel Cafe

Wow, great little find. I ordered a salad sandwich because of all reviews. Not sure how anyone can make a salad sandwich taste so good. Really fresh & delicious.

Awesome little place. The fellow taking the order was entertaining and informative all at the same time. The calamari burger was delicious and I had never seen one on a menu before so I had to try it. The menu was very extensive so it was a difficult decision to make for sure.

One of the best feeds I've ever had. Service was excellent, Super friendly, nothing was too much of an ask.

The food and the portions, both absolute lovely.
The owner is a sweet guy with good local knowledge. I loved the vintage style radio there. Will definitely worth a small detour if you’re heading north.

My family and I came here, looking for something new and different, we were not disappointed. It's a retro style restaurant with a traditional and classic menu and vibe with a jukebox. The staff are fantastic, the food was amazing, the milkshakes were heavenly. We also had free sauce and refills. We will come here again in future and I definetly recommend this. It's a little family owned business in a small place, they do an outstanding job at what they do, very friendly and always made sure that everything is good with us. Keep up the great work. Great service!

We were driving through to Melbourne & broke the 12hr trip by staying in Albury for the night then headed to Melbourne the next day. We decided to stop in for something to eat & coffee & Avenel cafe came up on Google maps. After reading some of the reviews we decided we would call in. So glad we did, even the drive along the road is pretty & serene.
Shaun is very friendly & loves a chat. When we mentioned that we were going to Melbourne for the tennis he told us the best way to walk from where we’re staying.
We had the Souvlaki’s which were very yummy & everything is made fresh & is worth the wait, which wasn’t very long & time was filled by conversation anyway.
Would definitely recommend to stop & have a meal & enjoy the jukebox & conversation.

Oh my goodness!! What a little hidden gem this place is! I can honestly say I haven't had a burger like that for a long long time! Got the bogan burger and potato cakes and they were absolutely delicious, wifey got a lovely fresh salad sandwich and enjoyed that too! If you are in town or heading past. You'd be mad not to try this Cafe. What a lovely guy too! Oh and the coffee.. Mmmm.. Mmmm

Stumbled on the cafe driving to Albury. I know a salad sandwich is simple but the ingredients were so fresh, the service extraordinarily friendly and warm, and the location so pleasant. It really was a pleasant surprise. Go there!

Exceptional cafe. We need more venues like this to make the world a happier place. 5 stars all round.

Dropped in for lunch on our road trip. All food was cooked fresh. The food is delicious and the coffee is fantastic. The service was amazing, friendly and speedy. A definite must stop by on the way home.

Met my sister again at Avenel Cafe, great fresh food cooked as it is ordered. No precooked food at this cafe.
Chocolate milkshake again was magnificent, creamy full of flavour.
Shaun the owner has the perfect personality for this cafe. Always up for a chat and laugh. Make the effort turn off the Hume Highway and pop into this cafe, you will not be disappointed.

Awesome place to stop and have a meal breakfast lunch or dinner and wonderful service
Great off street parking suitable for cars and bikes.
Plenty to explore in town as well.
Make sure you stop relax and eat at the Avenel cafe.

My partner and I had the best egg and bacon rolls and milkshakes! The customer service was absolutely delightful, he made us feel so welcome. We will definitely be back!! ☺

Amazing! We stopped by as a group of four for coffees and lunch. Great range of food, fresh sandwiches made however you like! Non dairy milk alternatives too! Owner and staff are incredibly kind and welcoming. Very reasonable prices too! It was a lovely experience. We will be back, thank you! :)

Me and my partner ordered a burger lot and a cheese burger and to our surprise we loved it . The beef patty was juicy and tasty.
