Great place to experience finding gems. Great service, we got some nice stones as well with a cup of tea and awesome scones all for $30 for the two of us. They grade all your stones out into little bags and recommend uses for them. We had a few that if we wanted to have them cut were recommended to send to Thailand and the cutting price seemed reasonable

Gerry & l had a wonderful time here. We also purchased a $100 bucket & had heaps of fun finding the sapphires, there were heaps. The price also included a cuppa with scones, jam & cream. As it was a hot day the staff also offered us glasses of water & juice boxes. Sam & the staff were very attentive & helped us to understand what we were looking for. We found quite a number of stones that are able to be cut. Sam took time to sort them out & explained the various types you can find. Thank you Sam & staff.

My husband and I recently had the most fantastic experience during our first visit to Miners Cottage. We highly recommend it to anyone looking for an unforgettable experience. The hospitality was exceptional - the staff were friendly and incredibly helpful. We opted for the $100 bucket, and it was totally worth it for the incredible amount of sapphires we found. What's more, they even provided top-notch service for our dog who is traveling with us. Overall, a truly memorable visit that exceeded all expectations.

Amazing experience we managed to get a number of saphires that are cuttable. We are super excited to get these ready to put into jewellery I would reccomend getting the 100 dollar bucket as their are more bigger saphires in these. Miners cottage also graded our saffires I am super impressed and hope to come back soon thankyou so much for a great experience! Xx

Wonderful visit. Lovely couple. Full of interesting facts, came away with a mix of sapphires. Recommended. Grandson really enjoyed it, so did we.

Wow! What a great place and experience!
Visited with both our young girls and the owners went out of their way to make our morning one to remember. Super friendly and helpful.. plus coffee and scones!!! Even had juices for the kids.
Highly recommend coming here and having a great fossicking experience.

What a delightful awesome experience. We purchased 4 buckets and find a heap of sapphires and a couple of zircons. Over the 2+ hours we spent there, Sam reviewed each wash to make sure nothing was missed and then seperated all the stones to "show and tell" and possible cuts. Would highly recommend a morning visit.

We had a great morning here. Very friendly and knowledgeable staff, great set up and we were also given a complimentary morning tea. Perfect for the whole family as our 2yo had fun putting any old rocks into his cup while we looked for the good stuff. Ironically he found our best sapphire! 10/10 recommend.

We had such a great experience at the Miners Cottage! Sam the owner was a WONDERFUL host! We were travelling in the off season and was so disheartened that so many places were closed. But we rang Sam and she was such an angel and opened up for us (even after being to the dentist!) The kids picked the best buckets - found some fabulous sapphires and they made it to the brag board (parents - let the kids pick the buckets!) Thank-you so much Sam for your hospitality, wisdom and the experience! We all learnt so much!

This is the best place in the region for learning about how to fossick and identifying what you find. Staff and owner are patient and full of helpful information. A visit here is fun for everyone and we were very happy with the quality and quantity of treasure found from purchasing her bags. I recommend you go for the premium one you will not be disappointed 😉.
We found over 520 carats of gems in just one bag. Awesome place, people and products. Forget about the others and try here first. I wish I had.

An excellent way to learn about Sapphires and other gems. The staff were wonderful and knowledgeable. Make sure you take a hat, and if you easily get sunburnt, wear a shirt with long sleeves and a collar.

Great service. The staff were very helpful and spent time going through our find to make sure we didn't miss anything. Took home some really nice sapphires.

Great time here. Staff really helpful, $25 gets you a bag of wash and scones and coffee. This is the first place you need to go when in rubyvale/sapphire area.
