Pats Gems Tourist Fossicking Park & Licenced Cafe

Another great spot to stop at while in the Gemfields. We enjoyed breakfast and came back for lunch. Very friendly staff. Enjoyed fossicking while one of the staff showed us what to look for and how to do it.

Pat's Gems was so much fun.
Turned up for breakfast the staff were amazing super friendly and very knowledgeable. They showed me how to look for gems but also had a laugh and a chat about the local history and town. I had my bucket and I was so excited... After an hour I had found a bag of gems. So worth the visit.

Come for the fossicking, stay for the cakes! The pineapple and coconut meringue pie was so good, we came back the next day for more! The staff here are so friendly and chatty, really made our visit to the area so much brighter!

Fantastic experience at Pats Gems! The staff were so friendly and helpful, and showed us the best way to find sapphires! We parked our caravan out the front and bought two buckets. We got quite a few sapphires from just two buckets! The carrot cake and wedges from the cafe are also so delicious. Would highly recommend spending the whole morning here!!!

This place was great. We were not disappointed and happy we made the time to stop. The kids had a great time playing there. The owners were so giving with their knowledge and expertise in finding the gems. Everyone was helpful and friendly. To top it off we got some delicious coffee and scones.

Lovely place, bought a wash bag to take home and go through. Was really surprised and happy when one of the sapphires in the bag was over 80ct.

We had a great experience fossicking and tasty carrot cake and coffee. Pat was very helpful and welcoming.

Great place to spend the afternoon. Food is excellent with daily specials and they have a decent bar too. Grab a bucket of wash and have fun picking out some sapphires.

Spent two afternoons there and found a lot of sapphires. Staff are friendly and will show you how to fossick for gems. Only $15 per bucket of wash and all our buckets contained sapphires. If you are in the area and looking for something to do, I would recommend spending a few hours to try your luck.

Pats great! She'll show you how to pan properly and what to look for! We had no clue but after a couple of hours had a pretty good idea and walked away with not a fortune lol but a good souvenir of green and blue sapphire and 3 zircon, also had a lovely morning tea while there

Unbelievable well worth the visit for all ages! Great little Cafe n friendly staff! $25 a bucket to go fossicking and enjoy the experience of sifting, washing and sorting rocks, pebbles looking for Gems in comfort.

On a recent trip to Rubyvale we stopped in at Pat’s Fossicking Park after trying another fossicking place. I have to preface this by saying I’m a novice at photographing gems, but we found over 200 carats of sapphires in 3 buckets (including a 25 carat sapphire that little Miss Rhinehart found). We enquired about having them cut in australia but because they were quite small we sent them O/S to Lamberts. We received back 12 beautiful little sapphires. The photos don’t do them justice. Thanks for a wonderful family memory!

We spent a great couple of hours at Pat’s gems. Corinne, who showed us how to fossick for the sapphires was lovely, very knowledgeable and helpful. Although we can’t retire anytime soon on our finds we had an enjoyable time and took home sapphires in a variety of colours.

We had a fabulous time at Pats and went back 3 times. Pat and her staff were so friendly and helpful and we thoroughly enjoyed our visit. Got some lovely little stones too. The food and coffee were an added bonus. Highly recommend calling in to see Pat and do a bit of fossicking.

Looks like another gem store from the front, but hidden behind the garden is a great fossicking area and brilliant, affordable cafe.
