The Barracks, Tocal

We have just returned from a 5 night stay. We have stayed at the Barracks before, about 2 years ago. I have to say that both stays were amazing. From placing the booking to checking out everything was really nice. Kali was simply the nicest and most caring person, very passionate about her role. Even though we had no internet the entire time on our stay, everything else was so good that having no internet was not a big deal. Everything was very clean, the linen was lovely, beautiful hard mattress. Breakfast was great also, we will definitely keep it on our return list ♡♡

My family and I stayed here last Oct for my wedding, and we can honestly say that it was pure perfection. Michael was so accommodating, friendly, caring and kind! The whole experience was an absolute dream and I wish we could do it all again! We used the Barracks as not only accommodation but a place to get ready for me and my bridal party the day of the wedding and it was the best decision made! The Barracks is spacious, light and bright which makes it perfect for gorgeous photos, makeup and hair to be done there! We didn't have to rush as we got married onsite at Tocal Homestead and Michael made sure to check in often to see if we needed anything! We spent 2 nights here and I wish it was longer. I highly recommend staying at the Barracks, its so peaceful and calming, with so many little places to explore close by! Can't wait to head back there one day! Thank you again for a magical experience!

One of the most beautiful places we have stayed in. The Barracks are gorgeous boutique accommodation that are extremely well looked after by Michael the Caretaker that takes care of the whole place. He is an absolute legend. Very warm and welcoming. Also hands down the best tour guide of this beautiful homestead.

We had the most lovely stay at The Barracks! We stayed here on our wedding night and it could not have been more perfect. The caretaker, Michael went above and beyond to make our stay 10/10. The morning breakfast hamper was delicious! We will definitely be returning :)

Barracks at Tocal Homestead. Such beautiful accommodation and it’s so lovely to explore the property, so much interesting history and so serene! We also had a complimentary breakfast hamper which was so delicious. Would highly recommend to anyone! We also had a picnic at Tocal under the same tree where we got married 4 years ago, it was just magical! Thank you so much to the staff for allowing us to do this ❤❤

Beaut rooms. Old but like new. Generous continental brekki. Stairs to bedrooms ok for the sure footed. Wish we had time to explore the historic buildings.

This property is wonderful! Beautifully renovated and run by a very passionate and knowledgable caretaker Michael. The estate is well kept, and the breakfast hampers were full of local produce. Highly recommend!

Beautifully renovated and preserved. Lovely custodians. Peaceful and interesting historical location and sites. Would recommend for couples.

I went there for the day and I enjoyed it. It's a shame that there were no souvenir shops.

Ideal for those attending a wedding on site. Not recommended for a longer stay where you want to 'settle in' as limited cooking facilities and no on site food options (other than food boxes). Still, a beautiful place in a fantastic setting with lovely and helpful staff - so thankful for the service.
