Best place I've ever stayed. The proprietor was funny, kind and incredibly accommodating. The rooms are beautiful, the breakfast is delicious, and she offered us sandwiches, scones and drinks late at night when we mentioned we were hungry after a wedding. She even drove 12 of us to and from the wedding and offered winery recommendations. Feels like staying at home. Would absolutely recommend to anyone who wants a relaxed boutique hotel experience in the countryside.

Stayed just one night and it was great. The included breakfast was fantastic. I did pay just a few dollars more to make it the deluxe breakfast and it was worth every cent. The owner, Andrew gave outstanding service. One of the best places I have stayed. Highly recommended.

Stayed there Saturday night . Can't speak highly enough of the property, the rooms, the staff and of cos the owners. The whole property is so beautifully restored, all areas and our room was so very clean and tidy. Room and whole stay was great, food was amazing - breakfast was included in our room rate and included juice, coffee and a fully cooked hot plate of yummy food. Also the beautiful cheese plate we ordered for that night was enjoyed by us in the sitting room - fire was lit for us even though all the other guests had functions to attend and we were the only ones using the sitting room. We will be looking forward to our return stay sometime soon.

Highly recommended. We stayed at Paterson Lodge this weekend with our extended family to attend my sons wedding. It’s a lovely little family run hotel and Andrew and Chloe looked after us beautifully. Rooms were impeccably clean and very comfortable beds (especially the pillows). Breakfast hit the spot perfectly to set us up for each day and I highly recommend the scones and cream for an afternoon pick me up. Andrew patiently waited for everyone to get ready and dropped us off in the minibus and collected us bang on time after the wedding - thank you sir for an excellent stay - we’ll be back!

My wife, who is a hair and makeup artist, had a client there who was getting married. The place is so full of character and history. It felt like we were in another time period.
The staff was very warm and friendly. We didn't get food from the cafe, but it smelled really good when we went down.

We had a brief overnight stay.
Beautiful building, very inviting.
Beds and pillows so comfy.
We are a couple, stayed in the Eddie Knox room. Lucky enough to get the last room available for our selected night. Did not disappoint.
The overall ambience was perfect.
Excellent customer service and the breakfast was so yummy.
Thank you for providing a wonderful space for people to enjoy.

My partner and I stayed at Paterson Lodge for a night on our road trip down from Brisbane in December last year and we still find ourselves thinking of the breakfast from time to time.

What particularly stood out was the hospitality, we arrived late but the host was very accommodating and showed us around / to our room. We loved the property – the building is beautiful, the room was comfortable, and the area / views were serene.

We look forward to returning when we're next in the area and would recommend a visit whether it's on the way or as a destination in itself.

A great place to stay for local functions, rooms are clean and really well maintained. Staff are friendly and the breakfast is great.

We went here a couple weeks ago, just passing through, it was an amazing experience with lovely staff and service. The food was delicious even if it was simple. The staff were great with our server giving us an amazing time. The location was beautiful with the scenery amazing. Absolutely recommend if you want a nice home cooked meal.

A great place to stay in a beautiful little town. Nice room with comfy bed and everything you need. Friendly owners very happy to help. Good brecky. Couldn't be more centrally located. Just perfect.

Stopped in for lunch today we had the mixed sandwiches it was presented like a high tea a mix of fruit on top plate and sandwiches on second plate and finally mini muffin each . I must say that it was very enjoyable we sat by the window and enjoyed the meal and relaxing atmosphere, thank you to the hosts, we will be back to try your other treats on your menu.

Stopped in for breakfast on the way through, they have a basic menu that was well priced and cooked to perfection.
The owner/manager appeared to have a great rapport with his staff and customers alike.
Very clean with what appears to be a recent update. Well worth a visit.

Had an amazing stay at Paterson Lodge! The historical building is well maintained and absolutely charming, & has information on the history of the building itself as well as the town. We stayed in the Kingston Room, which was clean, spacious & well outfitted, & I know it’s repetitive but it really was a charming room! Make sure you look at the ceilings - even they’re gorgeous. Since we were there in winter, the fireplace was lit in the dining room, making it super cosy when we went down for breakfast in the morning. I’d definitely stay here again on another trip to the Hunter!

Stayed 4 days to check out the area around Paterson . Paterson lodge has been restored beautifully, rooms are private, most with views over the valley. Package included breakfast which are to die for. Andrew , our host , prepares fantastic hot breakfast or delicious generous Continental breakfast, great coffee .Great Hosts very central to pubs and shops. Highly recommend

Paterson Lodge is an excellent Hunter Valley stay in a pristine and beautiful location. Quiet and isolated, Andrew and the team are so accommodating and incredibly proud of their small business with this reflected in their hospitality and dedication to their patrons. The staff went above and beyond whilst on our stay to make sure we were happy and looked after. The rooms are comfortable, clean, well kept and maintained with the historical building a great stay. Close to Maitland. It is a must to visit and the included breakfast is very appealing. Would stay again!

We stayed here after our daughter's wedding at Tocal. Rooms are beautiful, Service is fantastic, including the mini bus pickup. Can't thank you enough. Highly recommend. Jackie

We have been staying in the area for the weekend and dropped in for breakky. What a gem! The food is very well priced, and the staff went above and beyond to look after the family whilst we dined here.

We ended up coming back the morning after, then again for lunch.

The hot breakky is amazing (sausages, bacon, hash browns, waffles, pancakes, sourdough and more).

We had a lamb roast for the Sunday Special, it was delightful. Also shared a ploughman's platter and cheese platter. Not only was it plenty of food, but the staff worked hard to ensure the meals contained ingredients we would enjoy (eg our favourite cheeses, fruits etc).

The caramel tart is incredible, made fresh when you order it!

There's a small cubby house to keep the kids occupied (where they can pretend to make our meals). And of course, a railway line nearby with a level crossing in eyesight so the kids could watch freight trains, XPTs, Hunter Line and rail motors rumble on by.

Thanks a million for making our visit to the region special. You took time to make us feel welcome, to include the kids in the planning/ordering, and took pride in the quality of your meals. We will be back!!

Had an incredibly enjoyable stay at Paterson Lodge for a quick weekend getaway recently and everything was above and beyond my expectations. Not only the owners/staff were extremely hospitable and helpful, but the room we stayed in was also clean and spacious and had everything we needed. A bonus is exploring the fascinating history of the building, which is well preserved by the owners. Definitely will recommend Paterson Lodge to anyone looking to stay in the area!

Stopped in for breakfast not once but twice while we stayed in Paterson. Was fantastic both times! Dog friendly in the outside courtyard.
