I recently visited Nam Yang Kopitiam and decided to try their kolo mee with roast sausage and pork noodle. While the kolo mee with roast sausage was satisfying, I found the pork noodle to be rather mediocre. The roast sausage added a delightful flavor to the dish, but the pork noodle didn't quite meet my expectations in terms of taste and quality.

Despite this, the $10 deal offered by Nam Yang Kopitiam is still a great value for money, especially considering the variety of dishes available. My son thoroughly enjoyed his meal, and the bustling atmosphere added to the overall dining experience.

Overall, Nam Yang Kopitiam offers decent food at an affordable price, but there is room for improvement in terms of both food quality and service.

We ate here 2 days in a row because of how yummy n affordable the food is in this place during their winter special promotion. They streamlined their menu and offer their top classic dishes for $10 each , with selected side dishes n kaya toast set. Can't believe it , such a hearty portion and our tummies left filling very satisfied 🤗 they didn't reduce their quantity or quality at all with their lower prices , it is exactly what you would get before their promotion period , really impressed ! Service is warm n friendly , like what u get in msia

I always here in the past until their changes the menu.. from bakuteh season. Now, it is so busy all the time. Because of the food, and quite cheaper is the reason why the table is always full!! I come here almost every week! Food and the environment make me feel like home❤💚🖤

Had the pork noodle soup. Had lots of pork, noodles, and vegetables. The lunch meal was very hot, and fresh. If you like the food, can order more as you go. Service was very quick, lots of staff in the small restaurant. Lots of tables available. Staff happy to describe the dishes, and what items the dish contains. Casual dining Malaysian restaurant, not too noisy.

A delicious bowl of pork noodle soup. Simple but tasty, loved the different minced pork. Fantastic value at just $10. I don't think you'll find that price anywhere else.

Laksa was alright. Took a little while for the food to arrive. They must cook one bowl at a time.

Where can you find meals for $10!! these days. Well, at Nan Yang, dreams can come true.
Only had the chance to try out their Laksa and Hainnan Chicken rice at lunchtime, and it was divine.
Simply unbeatable in price and can not complain for $10!!

$10!!!!! 🤑🤑🤑Unbelievable value in this day in age and truly such authentic and delicious food. This place is my go to for hainanese chicken rice and it does not disappoint in both taste and price. Although it is self service, it is a small price to pay for such a scrumptious and cheap meal - highly recommend their other laksa dishes and pork soup noodles too!

Heard about their $10 dishes so gave it a try. When I came on Sunday just before midday, there were a couple of people in front of us queuing, but we got in about 10 mins so not bad at all. Tried their Sarawak laksa, which I dont know what to expect bcos I never had Sarawak laksa before (tried laksa and Assam laksa in other places before). The place itself was old and plain, a bit dim, but feels like you are in Asia somewhere. Food came pretty quick, and I was blown away with the soup. It is a bit milky but not as milky as normal laksa, and it has more herbal spices which I love! This dish would have been perfect if it has more veggies, as all they gave was few bean sprouts. The meat is mainly chicken, some sliced beaten fried eggs, and 2 pieces of prawn. Oh well, for $10 I really cant complain that the dish isnt generous with veggies. It was definitely a value meal, nowhere else I can expect to pay $10 for amazing taste of soup. Tried the soup of white curry noodle soup my husband had, and it was very nice too, I would try having that next time. When we finished, the queue has gotten worse, it even reached other shops. I can see why, it’s one of the best value meal I have had. Would love to come back and tried their other dishes.

A busy Malaysian cafe. Friendly staff. Good Malaysian hawker food. Quick service. Self serve cutlery, water and sauce. Card, weekend and public holiday surcharges apply.

Checks off all the boxes for good value and tasty meals, quick service. The $10 specials are a definite must! It's not easy to find a restaurant where a party of 3 can dine out for a total $30!

I visit Nanyang every time I crave for Sarawak food. My favourites are their kueh chap and crispy tomato mee. These two have the most authentic flavours. Other favourite dishes from my family include Sarawak laksa, kolok mee (a bit on the sweet side due to the char siu sauce they use). I also enjoy their curry cheong fun. Service is great too!

Pretty authentic Malaysian / Singaporean dishes. Tried the chicken satay which was pretty good, sauce was tasty. Fish head vermicelli soup is the stand out. Although many places serve this now, it’s hard to get a good one with strong, milky soup and fish fried well. Served with pieces of rockling fish head, salted vegetables, tomato and vermicelli, this really hits the spot. 5 stars for this dish alone. Going back just for this. Tried a few other things which were ok too.

Friendly service. Food was authentic Malaysian.
Similar decor with the restoran across the street O'Town so must be the same management.

Update: No, O'Town is much more expensive. Not recommended. Better value here at Nan Yang.

Very good taste and quality. Reminded us of the same foods we ate in Singapore: loh bak, popiah, otak-otak, Singapore Hokkien mee (the white version), kueh chap. It would be nice if the Singapore Hokkien mee had more gravy and the kueh chap was thinner and smaller, but taste-wise both definitely met the mark in terms of seasoning and wok hei (for the Singapore Hokkien mee)

Some $10 meals - a bargain for dining out. I recommend the penang white curry and the pork noodle soup. Kaya toast with coffee or tea is also good.

First time coming here for some sarawak hawker food, taste wise very decent.
Had kuay chap and tomato sauce beehoon... kuay chap was nice, beside a bit too much soup today. Beehoon was nicely charred and fried, not oily and very crunchy even soaked in the sauce.
Next time will be trying out kolomee, sarawak laksa and CKT for sure.

The food reminded me when I lived in Singapore. The taste is the closest with the same food in Singapore and I also loved the texture of the noodle. Definitely will recommend this to anyone.

This is a place to go to if you miss some malaysian comfort food. My all time favorite is Kolo Mie, taste exactly the same as it is in Kuching. Update : Now they have few items (noodle with pork, curry laksa, kolo mie, hainamese chicken rice) that only cost $10. What a generous restaurant. There are also some traditional malaysian cake, very authentic and delicious.
