Somerset Outdoor Learning Centre

Really enjoyed my time at Somerset camp last week, the food was great when we got to cook ourselves and the MKR competition was amazing. The food on our Duke of ed hike, was soggy though and made me feel ill. The activities were overall good with the exception of some as they were slightly boring. Our camp leader Alesha was so nice, providing us with courage and encouragement. She was strict when she needed to be and in the reflection time she gave us, what stuck with me was her which honestly made my time at Somerset.

Just finished school camp and man I gotta say, it couldn't have been better without our camp instructor Josh Silver, although he sorta lied about the levers and the snacks in the wombat hole, this guy was such a good instructor. I hope we can have him again if we do Duke of Ed here but yeah give this man a raise to GL3 or GL4, he deserves it. Annabelle was so nice all the time which was great. I'd love to come here again especially with the guys in our group.

Excellent programs and logistically the best. Campers have their boundaries expanded in a safe yet appropriately demanding camping program. Accommodation is in tents so this is true camping, you are immersed in the the outdoors and learn to appreciate what you have at home. There are flushing (eco) toilets. Teachers are well looked after. Food is plentiful and often campers are involved in its preparation. I personally love the journey element of the programs.

I just finished school cam and this goes out to Joshua, my boy josh needs a raise to GL3 or GL4 Although he lied once or twice he was a great guy and made my day enjoyable everyday. Sad to hear he is leaving soon but seriously give this man a raise. Also Annabelle was amazing. I would love to come back again.

Best Camp. Just finished a 3 day practice hike and qualifying hike program for my Duke of Ed Bronze. Very well run and organised. Group leaders are well trained and very good at what they do. Rented gear is good quality, provided food was great and the scenery was amazing. 100% recommend this to anyone looking for a good school or Duke of Ed camp. Dan is a legend by the way.

This was an incredible camp and experience, with ranging activities and fun for all ages.

Came to this camp for a class trip and was amazed with the quality. Awesome views, guides and so much more so I highly recommend it for begginer campers.

Activities range from milk crate stacking to kayaking, river runs and obstacle courses with the choice of cabins or tents and a HUGE landscape to enjoy!

Overall this camp provides an amazing experience and is highly customisable for what you're wanting to get back!

My friends and I went on a 5 day Duke of Ed Bronze camp here and it was the most memorable camp we all have ever been on. It will definitely be a highlight of our year. We owe our amazing experience to our fantastic group leader, Matt. Without such a good group leader we wouldn't have enjoyed ourselves as much as we did, learned so much or stayed safe. I really recommend a Somerset camp.

Just got back from my bronze hike for duke of ed with Somerset and I loved the experience even though it was extremely challenging. I found my time at Somerset rewarding and I definitely grew physically, mentally and as a person. Our group leader Mitch was amazing and gave us the responsibility and freedom to have a good experience and he was super fun too! (congrats on the shortest game of Mafia ever.) While the hikes were difficult, Mitch helped us find our way and I always felt safe, even when you made us run back to our tents in the middle of an intense thunderstorm. Sorry for our extreme gossiping and loud irritating singingI would do the whole thing again in a heartbeat (love you all Group 11 xoxo and all our alter egos - especially Olga) 10/10 experience. - or 5/5 considering google only has 5 stars.

Our group leaders Matt, Callum and Laura were the best. Even though they told us all these lies, it made the camp so enjoyable especially because all my friends and i woke up with hiking depression every morning regretting the hikes ahead. Even though i thought i was going to die, all the riddles and games around the campfire made the overall camp so fun. WE LOVE YOU MATILDA!

The best river camp My son has ever experienced! Jim also helped my son have the best camp because my son had a camp for the first time.

Two of my children have attended Duke of Ed camps here and I have found them very professionally run. During covid we had to reschedule and Somerset were very accimodating.

the best camp just because Carlos Santana is my goat and the best instructor in the world. please give him a pay raise thanks. cool 👍👍

Excellent scenic place to drop kids for a camp.

Had an absolute blast doing a 4 day Duke of Ed bronze camp here, staff was great (especially our groups instructor Mitch) and facilities were really good.

Caleb made the horrible 30km hike fun and enjoyable, it sucks but is definitely worth it in the end

Kids had a ball! Excellent Duke of Edinburgh program. Staff were knowledgable and kind.

My daughter tells me it is a great place and that she enjoyed her school camp very much.
