Spear Creek Holiday Park

We love Spear Creek. It’s not too far off the highway, but far enough to be quiet. The sites are fabulous. Non powered sites are nestled in secluded pockets (we love the Island or the Range). The night skies are beautiful. The park and sites are well appointed. Flush toilets are dotted around non powered sites. The common facilities are great. There’s a laundry, hot showers, etc. There are also some extras that are available for purchase: firewood; food and drinks; meat (local, delicious!); ice cream; there’s a coffee cart open from 8-10!. It’s really a fabulous place to come stay - one of our favs.

What a fabulous spot. We had a premium powered site for 2 nights which are more spacious, private and further away from the standard sites. Plenty of room for a campfire and the stars on a clear night are amazing. Good walking trails and pet friendly - our dog had a great time with so much to smell, - he badly wanted to chase the wild goats on the Spear Creek trail! Beautiful sunset view from the Sunset Seat. Staff are friendly and helpful. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will be back!

We stayed here when Port Augusta was booked out and will be staying here again next time we are in town. Great location, beautiful and peaceful scenery. Good facilities, excellent hot water showers! Shear's cabin was basic but comfortable and quiet. The staff onsite were lovely and accommodated any request easily. I have already recommended the Spear Creek Holiday Park to friends and family. Looking forward to our next visit!

An unexpected surprise on Wiki camps!!!!! Spear Creek!!!!!!we enjoyed a respite of 2 nights. Facilities were great, staff friendly , Lamb purchased delicious and tender. John and I enjoyed a leisurely trail walk, through creek beds, over rocks and along a well maintained path. After being in the car for a few days was terrific to stretch our legs. Will recommend to our family and grey nomads we meet. Thanks Tom and Jai.

So beautiful area! We had an amazing time.Great view from our camp site, friendly staff ❤ my friends and my 2 year old daughter went walking in deep Creek trail for 1 hour and walk back to camp-site.
On our last day we had rain the whole day but we still had fun my daughter play in puddle and ride her bike <3 We also saw kangaroos and some other wild life. 100% recommend it!

This is my second visit to Spear Creek Holiday Park. The first time I visited it was for 2 nights this time we returned for 6 nights. First and foremost I must say the staff and owners of Spear Creek are amazing!! They care deeply about the park and their customers. They are super helpful, attentive and extremely friendly. Jai, Tom and all the reception and maintenance staff do an excellent job making sure you feel at home and are comfortable and have everything you need. The park is very well cared for and the location is brilliant. It is at the base of the mountain and is close to hiking, gravel and road bike riding. Port Augusta is close by for shopping and many other attractions of the area. I would highly recommend Jai and Tom’s Spear Creek Holiday Park to anyone from singles, couples and families. They also sell on the premise high quality lamb products from the sheep they raise, and it is delicious!! Well done Jai, Tom and staff you guys are truely amazing and do an outstanding job. We will be back every year.

We have loved every visit here, we have been going here for many years and still love every stay. The boys have done so much to improve this park, friendly staff, great coffee… this time of the year now coming into winter is the best … we will visit over and over..love it

We’ve stayed here a few times now in unpowered sites. Great location, surroundings, and staff. Perfect for a stop over on your way further north, definitely recommend,

I recently had the pleasure of dealing with Jai and Tom from Spear Creek. They purchased a CanAm side by side from me to use at the park. They were genuine, polite ,respectful and just all-round great guys to deal with! The way they conducted themselves as customers purchasing from me, I have no doubt they are amazing hosts at the park! I look forward to bringing my wife up to Spear Creek for our next camping trip. We have stayed a few times now and absolutely love it! Every stay has been better than the last. kid friendly and so much to do.

The 4WD tracks are great and the views are amazing.

Spear Creek a fantastic place to relax and get away from it all. Jai and Tom's hospitality was amazing , where ever you looked they were involved. We had a few power issues but that didn't dampen the experience. Easter egg hunt was so much fun for the kids. Relaxing and talking around the camp fire each night. The 4x4 tracks were so much fun with great views.

Wonderful quiet retreat. Out in the bush. Bungalows are very spacious and well equipped.

It’s a true wonderland for me. The views around are spectacular. The amenities are quite old but clean. I can see it’s going under construction in 2024, trust that it would make the place even greater. The staff are super friendly and helpful. The ground is quite hard to set up the tent, but we managed to use the rocks to secure the tent. Their lamb is absolutely must-try, best lamb I have ever had. There are a few good trails for hiking lovers.

We’d definitely come back if we have a chance. I would rate 6 stars if I can.

What a great place to stay. Easy access along bitumen from Horrocks Pass or Stirling North.
Quiet and peaceful. Short 3km distance of dirt. Has been graded today, 23 March. Within short distance to many attractions. Very quiet place to stay.

Magic area,good size sites, facilities very clean and well kept,the kitchen camp has absolutely everything you need,tracks to hike,loads of Birdlife, stunning views,friendly helpful staff a pleasure to stay here.

Children loved the fire, and sunset.

Wow!! Honestly such an amazing place that I will recommend to everyone. I’ve been here a few times now but this was my first time being a bit older and independent, visiting with just my boyfriend. We instantly both commented on how nice the staff were. Sam specifically looked after us for the three nights we were there. We were so insanely grateful for her service and the ways she offered to help us out with our stay. Honestly the best person I’ve ever dealt with at any campground/park. The facilities are all amazing, even more than you need while camping. All kept so well maintained. We stayed in the shearer’s quarters which was lovely. A bit more luxurious than our previous tent. Very clean and set out well, in a lovely spot too. The camp spots all look like they’re in beautiful spots. So much wildlife to see on the walks too which was great. Overall could not have asked for a better stay honestly! Will be coming back as soon as we can with our families. Thank you so much, especially to Sam!!

We stayed in the studio and had a lovely time. The fire pit with awesome and our pup had a great time!

We had a great 2 nights staying here. One night powered and one night bush camp. It was absolutely beautiful. The staff were fantastic and the amenities spotless. The showers were the best . The whole experience was truly delightful. It was our first time staying here but definitely won't be our last. A true treasure! The views to die for! Thanks for having us.

Very nice location. Amenities are clean tidy and well maintained.

Did the longer hike. It was 6.9km return and quite slippery/steep in places. Watch out for snakes.
