Orcas Taxis

Booked a cab from Victor Harbour to Port Elliott. Cab, driven by Christine, arrived within about 4 minutes of requested time. Considering it was Easter Sunday and they were slammed I was impressed. Text message announcing arrival was appreciated. Trip to Port Elliott was pleasant with good chit chat and a reasonable price. Bearing in mind we come from a town in regional Victoria the price was as expected.
Booked a return trip to Victor Harbour and were lucky enough to get Christine again. Unfortunately I missed the arrival text and she had to wait 2 minutes whilst we finished our drinks at the pub.
Could not rate highly enough. Great driver, professional service, nice person. PS ask for her personal playlist of one hit wonders if you're over 50.

A highlight of our night out for dinner! Picked up promptly...absolutely fantastic trip home. Music, laughter. Ben was so funny and we really enjoyed his happy disposition...great business

This is an UPDATE to my original review from a week ago:
After speaking to the owner of Orcas Taxis, the price is set by state government and calculated by the meter, so it's not the taxi company that should get the bad review. I use rideshare in the main and their prices are not government controlled but they are not allowed to operate is this region. The trip with Ocras Taxis was excellent other than the price, so they do not deserve the one star I've originally given them. Nice to speak to you Vicki.

Needed a taxi to Goolwa from Victor. I called Des’s Taxis first but they were booked out. When I asked for the name of another company I was told there was one but they didn’t know the name; really! So I called the next that I googled. The trip from a restaurant in Victor Harbour back to Goolwa, is about 25Km. The fare was $80! There was no traffic, just a straight drive home. There are only a few taxis on the peninsula and so no competition. I think that explains all. Just a word about the driver, he was excellent.

As we caught the Cockle Train from Victor Harbour to Goolwa (last train of the day and no return) we had to get a taxi back to Victor Harbour. Whilst the taxi did take approx 40 minutes to arrive (which we were told by the operator it would be a 30 minute wait) the driver was super friendly and chatty. We asked about recommendations for dinner and he gave us about 5 different options. We ended up taking his advice and went to the Middleton Tavern and it was great. He also chatted about the local area and gave us some history. Didn't get his name, but thanks!

Didn't arrive 2 days running, missed my appointments

Can’t speak highly enough of the excellent service provided in early December. Booking was confirmed by Orcas two days prior. Pick up (to and from the venue) was exactly on time, friendly service … totally professional.

Thank you to the Orca Taxis team for getting my dear Mother-in-law safely back to Adelaide from Milang at short notice on a Sunday afternoon!! How wonderful it was to discover that not only was Vicki beyond qualified to drive our precious cargo home but that she owned the company! Ma was certainly in safe hands. I can't rate this company highly enough! Thanks guys.

The owner came to a party in Middleton on a late Saturday night, and the bloke that rang wasn’t there anymore. The owner offered to give me and my mates a free ride back into port elliot and then come back and pick up the rest of us free of charge. Absolute legend 10/10

This is my first review which I have decided to write as a result of great service we received from this taxi company . We went to Carickalinga for a day trip and by accident locked our car key in the boot. No locksmith was willing to help so we decided to go back to Adelaide by Taxi . We called Orcas Taxis and spoke to Vicky who first of all was very sympathetic by understanding our situation She sent us a cab from Victor Harbour
Which got us to Adelaide

Cannot recommend highly enough! This company went above and beyond to help me out of a serious jam, friendly service and has that personalised manner you don’t often get these days. Thank you Orcas you guys are amazing.

Prompt service and a nice friendly driver who didn't mind have a couple of 6 day hikers in his car.

This is a locally owned company with local drivers. The owners deserve support as they are trying to keep a local company operating for the locals not an operator 500 miles away.
The drivers are local and have a sincere interest in doing their best for their community. Its hard to get good reliable drivers so please help us help you. Lets look after each other and stay community focussed. Cheers ben. U know.
