We had our wedding reception at Avalon and it was the most amazing night. Brian and the team were stunning hosts and everything was seamless in the lead up to the party, and on the night. We couldn’t have asked for a more perfect celebration, from the service, to the drinks, location, and the venue itself. It was just so much fun. 100% recommend Avalon for a party or event!

I hosted my top surgery fundraiser at Avalon The Bar and it was a HUGE success. Brian is an absolute legend and makes everything happen! I feel very lucky to have had my event at Avalon. Can't wait to come again. Good vibes all round.

This venue is gorgeous, from the moody, boutique inside vibes that shines for both dance party and relaxed speakeasy events alike to the lush and cozy outside space with the added upstairs smoker’s area with a city view (Avalon’s little Fitzroy secret).

Had my birthday here and IT WAS THE BEST NIGHT EVER! Brian and the staff are absolutely amazing and everyone who attended said they simply had the best time! The drinks on tap are so delicious and the atmosphere was perfect! Will be coming back again for another awesome time! Thanks guys for a great night :))

I can’t say enough good things about this space and its staff after they hosted a birthday party for me and a friend (and about 100 of our nearest and dearest). Brian, the boss, was friendly, accommodating and quick to respond to random email queries in the lead-up to the big night. The venue staff radiated good-time vibes, happily helped with our weird requests and kept our thirsty guests well-watered with speedy, skilled bar service. The space worked wonderfully for mingling, speeches, dancing (great sound system and DJ decks), over-the-top photo shoots and a moment of ill-advised karaoke. I selfishly kind of like that this place still seems to be a reasonably well-kept secret, but would 100% recommend it to anyone thinking of throwing a similar kind of bash.

Thank you Eve, Brian and the team at Avalon. We put on an anniversary party at Avalon and the whole process was incredibly smooth and professional. Communication with the team was clear and prompt. On the night the service was swift and friendly. The bar selection stellar. All my guests had such a fun night filled with dancing and laughter, I wish we could do it all over again! We might just have to have another party here in the future! Highly recommend this venue for private functions.

My partner & a friend had a joint birthday here. Avalon doesn’t look like much from outside but inside is a great bar with a cool outdoor courtyard. Eve who ran the bar was super helpful & there was never a wait for drinks on the night. They have an absolute beast of a sound system and the smoke machine and lighting helped keep everyone dancing till we nearly dropped. A fantastic place to hold a party, very reasonably priced & friendly chilled staff.

Brian and his team helped to host an incredible 30th birthday party that won't be forgotten anytime soon. From warm hospitality at the very first phone call to making sure everything ran smoothly on the night and afterwards, I couldn't recommend Avalon more as a place to visit or to host an occasion of your own!

I recently held my 30th at Avalon The Bar. The old record store come event space on Brunswick Street is a hidden gem. Brian and his team were brilliant and easy to work with. The space offers a completely private beer garden and a deck which looks directly towards the city. Everyone was raving about the venue, it was an absolutely awesome night. Highly recommend.

Avalon is one of my favourite bars in Melbourne. A little bit private club, a little bit hidden even on a main street, Avalon is the perfect function space. Intimate and wonderfully staffed I can't recommend it highly enough. Don't tell anyone!

We had so much fun hosting our function at the Avalon! Brian was incredibly helpful throughout the organisation process, and on the evening, Eve and Charlie made everyone feel super special. The bar has great drinks at affordable prices, and we really enjoyed partying the night away using the provided DJ decks. We couldn’t recommend a better place to host a party with a close group of friends, and we hope to be back very soon!

You could walk by unless you knew Avalon was there and that is one of its best qualities. Behind the blue blinds is a really cool little bar with a wide selection of delicious wines, cocktails and beers - Staff are super friendly and always happy for a chat or to provide a drink recommendation.
Inside is warm, and inviting but the outdoor area is my favourite - with a retractable roof and heating, its a fantastic spot to be even when its cold.
I've visited for a casual drink, private parties, and ticketed events - the music is always fantastic, and love how much energy the dance floor generates.

Cannot recommend this venue highly enough. Excellent space, great service, lots of flexibility. A pleasure to deal with. My friends and I have had four parties here (three 30ths and an afternoon farewell party) this year alone and each have been fantastic.

Great place to have your event, the staff are lovely & super helpful & the space is so much fun! Loved the outdoor area and little balcony overlooking the city, the ability to use DJ booth, smoke machine & projector. Overall was such a smooth and easy process which made the party great 😊🥰

Thanks to the team at Avalon who helped a rowdy football team celebrate the end of a big season. Brian was super helpful booking everything in and Eve was amazing on the day!
