Beautiful and big place for camping. The lake is beautiful and there are toilets and no drinkable water. I recommend

Heaps of space, doesn't feel cramped even in summer. Basic facilities for self-contained camping - flushing toilets. The lake views are amazing. Dog friendly:)

Million dollar lake view!! So worth it. Not sure why people are complaining about soft ground, there were plenty of gravel areas to park if needed but we had no problems with soft ground. Not crowded. Only $6. Nice staff. Garbage bins, toilets with sink and soap, drinking water, fire pits, picnic tables, boat ramp, bbq area.

Tasmania is dense with beauty and my mouth has oft gaped with awe at the sheer magic and natural festivity of even the most benign places - even stopping just off the roadside to shake off the driving momentum.

This lake however, will forever more be a highlight in my life. My words, as vast and peotic as they may be don't and may never do this very special place justice. I also wish whole heartedly that my photography skill was on par with excellence.

Though I've been softening my harsh appraisal of all things lately, it's still uncanny for myself to express my feelings about the joy this lake brought me during my visit.

Huey was kind enough to paint many rainbows and the waters here are a dreamscape to paddle within.

The campgrounds do just fine, the bathrooms may be a little run down but they work well enough and at a mere $6 a night, well, what sane person would be disappointed? No - seriously, I'm not sure I know enough about sane people to speak for them?

Well maintained campsites and driveway. Clean toilets and nice BBQ area with rain water. Ducks and wallabies everywhere. Beautiful views of the lake and a short drive to Nelson Falls. $6 for the night.

Only half an hour drive from Queenstown, with toilet & water facilities. Camping by the lake and under the stars surrounded by rocky mountains. Easily accessible by 2wd as well. My second camping spot in just month already.

The lake is huge backed by the rugged mountains of that area so nice scenery.
Plenty of room for caravans and camping, toilets are brand new, there's a camp kitchen with gas BBQ and bins on site.

Good simple campsite with great view.
Only one spot with direct lake view, but we got this as only us and one other tent in the entire site.
Only $6 for our van for one night.
We were self contained so didn't use the toilets, but we were able to throw our trash away.

Perfect spot if you're lucky enough to grab the spot by the lake, but still pleasant throughout the campgrounds in any case. Great value at $6 per night, caretaker was friendly and approachable. Basic facilities, old but clean. Definitely rated highly for scenic value!

Tranquil lake. The view changes throughout the day as the sun rises and falls. This review is for the lake, we didn't camp there. Worth stopping by for a look!
