Misty Pot Korean Grill Bar & Cafe, nestled just off Dynon Road near North Melbourne train station, is a charming spot with excellent food. Their fried chicken stands out for being exceptionally crispy and juicy. The stew we tried was equally delicious, packed with flavor. The staff are notably friendly and accommodating, readily assisting with orders, answering questions, and facilitating minor modifications like sauce on the side. This place comes highly recommended for a satisfying dining experience.

As a local frequenting for just over 6 months, I can easily say this is the BEST Korean restaurant in Melbourne. A must try restaurant that has:

✅ A well rounded menu where everything is incredibly delicious
✅ A nice homely vibe and dishes that feel like a home cooked meal rather than eating out
✅ Incredibly kind owners and staff who are very attentive
✅ The best sesame latte and yuzu lemonade I've ever had (all made in house)

A few favourites:

🍗🍗🍗 The chicken katsu set 🍗🍗🍗
Not pictured, because I always finish eating it before I remember to take a photo 🤣 the chicken katsu is nice and crispy, and the sauce is one of my all time favourites, like a more meaty and umami version of Japanese curry sauce.

🥩🥩🥩 The kbbq 🥩🥩🥩
They only just started offering it, and the meat quality is incredible without leaving that heavy feeling you get after bbq. Each serving is more than enough for one person, the mushrooms in particular are delicious.

🍲🍲 The beef soup sets: 🍲🍲
Are just the right amount of umami and slightly sweet (depending on which you order), with tender beef and a variety of side dishes.

LOVE MISTYPOT!

Recently discover Mistypot when I got off at North Melbourne train station as it is literally a few metres away!

So where to begin, love the fact it’s home style traditional Korean cuisine . Really enjoy the flavours of every dish I have tried so far ! The BONELESS FRIED CHICKEN 🤤 is so good!!! I recommend the sweet chilli or YUZU . Delicious deliciousness!!!

If you are unfamiliar with Korean cuisine the the lovely staff and owner are more than happy to tell u about each dish! Don’t be afraid to try everything (if you can) .

There is also a wide selection of beverages and alcohol. Which with Korean food is almost a must to pair it with a beer or soju !!!

Love coming to Mistypot and I’ll definitely advise to sit outdoors on a nice day and eat …. Because why not!?

I can’t wait to dine again!

We choose authentic Korean dishes for our anniversary, it’s right choice. Truly I felt so warm and love through their dishes, as Korean I’m very grateful that I can come for my soul food like mum’s foods. All staffs are very sweet , very kind.

Me and my hubby were too busy to finish the dishes so no photos, but def worth to try if you are around here , specially ginseng chicken soup my friends. we will be back soon for other foods.

Me and mum tried this cafe today as we were craving Korean food. Ordered the seafood hotpot and beef bulgogi hotpot. The food is delicious, the prices are reasonable, and the service is excellent. This small family-run business is a hidden gem, and I am definitely going to be a regular customer now

The food was fantastic. You can clearly tell the chef puts a lot of care into everything. Certainly the best bibimbap I've had in Melbourne. I'd definitely recommend you check them out and give them some support.

We loved this little local gem so much that we came back for a second time in the same week!
Korean home style cooking made with lots of love. The staff are lovely and so accomodating. They substituted the seafood for pork bulgogi in the spicy tofu soup and it was amazing!! 🤤🤤

I've been to this spot twice as my neighbourhood Korean restaurant joint. Food was delicious and lovely. Staff are very friendly, attentive and accommodating.

Me and my best friend came to get Korean barbecue here for the first time a couple of weeks back, their staff helped us set up the whole thing as we expected to do everything by ourselves. Their barbecue was inexpensive and pretty good cuts for the price. They also gave us kimchi salad as complimentary food, which was greatly appreciated.

Also I liked the beef bibimbap I had the other day. It was flavourful, beautifully presented and delicious. I left their joint feeling so full after a long day of not eating properly.

Amazing home-cook and Korean ambiance.

This restaurant make me feel like I am at home-style restaurant in Korean. And remind me when I visited Korea.

Their food is traditional and authentic. The taste is just right. I don’t know how to explain. You must try it by yourself. I feel the food is passionately prepared and well presented.

I will come back for more.

This place is right next door for us and we are super lucky. Their food is fresh and delicious always. The best best best item on the menu is their sweet and spicy Korean chicken. Literally the best thing ever! Very juicy, crispy and fresh. We have had the rice bowl, and bibimbap as well as the korean fermented alcohol. All very good.

The best korean food in Melbourne.
The bimbimbap is a generous serve with a perfect balance of condiments you’d expect from this one-bowl wonder. Every ingredient is seasoned perfectly and the searing-hot stone bowl will easily take care of the yolky egg on top.
Their ginseng chicken rice soup is perfect for a chilly morning, as is their kimchi stew or oxtail soup. I love how many of their menu is available in the morning. Make sure you order a side of the fish pancakes as well. It’s the perfect entree before their more substantive options. They also do a great range of fried chicken meals. Just ask for sauce on the side.
Of surprise is the quality of their coffee. Market Lane, no less and by far the best coffee in that catchment area of West Melbourne. Service, as mentioned by others, is warm and cosy, as is the restaurant itself.
I feel blessed that this home away from home is literally just a short walk away from where we live. Heartily recommended.

This was an accidental find, and what a gem of a find too!
The service the second I stepped inside was exceptional. I had had a bad day and the beautiful welcome was the start of more great thigs to come. I had a kimchi stew which was one of the best I have had, the last being that of when I was living in Korea as an expat! It was also clear their customers loved them as there were many regulars and they received great care. Highly recommend the food and service!! I will definitely be back.

Had a charcoal spicy pork with ssam set. Everything is cooked proper and on point of how everything suppose to be.

Smoky aromatic spicy pork serves with crispy and juicy fresh lettuce along with perfectly grilled garlics for you to make the perfect lettuce wrap with seasoned paste sauce.

A seafood pancake that clearly made fresh per order, crispy edge, proper seafood serves with well balance between salty, sweet and acidity from vinegar dipping sauce.

Very nice service, attentive and great coffee too.

Small and cozy home style Korean food can be found at Misty Pot. It's a family business and they put their heart and soul into it!

Have had a few things on their menu including their fried chicken, BBB, jap chae, oysters and pancake. My favourites are the fried chicken and jap chae.

Give it a try when you're in the neighbourhood!

Had a lovely dinner here with my family! Authentic Korean - we had beef bulgogi bibimbap and Korean fried chicken and it was 10/10. The staff were lovely - so inviting, kind and friendly! Will be back soon! Thank you!

A very homely local Korean restaurant. Great flavours but it is a small place so expect to wait a little especially when it's busy. Fresh yummy food that's worth waiting though :)

Awesome bibimbap and japchae. The seafood and tofu hotpot is a knock out.

Really friendly service. Their coffee is very good and cheaper than other places but my favourite thing is the yuzu iced tea. So yum and refreshing!

I come here a lot and it doesn't disappoint. The staff are delightful too.
