It’s fried chicken and beer, if you’re after that sort of thing and you’re reading reviews to work out if this place is for you. Trust me. It is! 🍗🍻

Having never been to Korean I can’t vouch for the authenticity of this place, I can however confirm that they serve at least two key items from your list:

1. Beer
They have beer. You can get a bottle, a glass or a jug. Happy days!

2. Chicken
Check, they also have chicken. It’s fried and then served with or in a verity of sauces, all delicious.

Fun fact: They have sped up the process by employing a chicken cooking robot! Great news if you’re not a chicken but let’s be honest, if you’re a chicken you’re probably not reading this…

If you want to try a nice Korean meal, then it is a nice place. We tried the Original Fried Chicken boneless with steamed rice and Chicken Rice mayo bowl. The quality of food was really nice and taste was good as well. We really enjoyed our meal. We found the service was a bit slow. But it was a busy place and all in all service was compensated with good food. The staff was friendly as well.

Who doesn't like a good tasting platter of Korean Fried Chicken? Especially if you have it with some beer right?

Between the three of us we had a tasting platter of eight different flavours! That's pretty good if you ask me, so you don't get to be stuck on deciding which flavours you'll have to choose before you consume the pure fried deliciousness.

Additionally, we ordered a side of wingettes and drummettes just in case it wasn't enough food but it was plenty for us eaters of an average stomach.

Crispy fried chicken with thick flavourful sauces.
Pickled radish and cabbage side dishes were refreshing.
Kimchi fries were surprisingly filling.
Worth trying and would go back again for more.

Didn’t have to wait in a queue on a Wednesday night we were quickly seated 4 people.

We all ordered the chicken and beer combo good value for money and can order whichever flavour you want. The lemon and cheese are the only ones with no garlic in it if you have an intolerance. I got the lemon and it was good they also have cheese need to try next time.

Liked the boneless chicken, less mess, easier to eat and I think better value.
I love Korean fried chicken so this is an easy option when we're in the city.
The snow cheese is their favourite, we tried the lemon mayo one which was good but most of the mayo went on the huge amount of red onion, so next time I'd ask to skip the onion!
Soju was great, alcoholic Korean drink, which was ok, about 14% alcohol and think a smaller bottle would have been better but it was ok.

Sam Sam's chicken was perfection! The soy garlic flavor was absolutely divine, coating each tender bite with savory goodness. The balance of soy and garlic was just right, creating a mouthwatering sensation with every bite. It's a must-try for any chicken lover looking for an unforgettable flavor experience.

Seriously good Korean food. I had the boneless sweet chilli chicken because it looked so good on the digital menu and wasn’t disappointed. Venue felt authentic as it was small and not too loud but all the tables were filled with couples groups and single people. I’ll definitely be back next time I’m down in Melbourne.

Finally got to visit @samsamchicken and first thing we would say is that you need to visit here.

The highlight as you enter is the Robot chef making fried chicken for you, which is amazing to watch and a treat in itself.

But coming to food itself, it’s totally on point and delicious.
The fried chicken is so tender and juicy which you can select your choice of flavor to be served in.
And goes amazingly with the beer or drinks on offer.
We also tried the Kimchi fried rice and Kimchi rice.

Everything was amazing including the ambience of the place.
Definitely a must visit!

Now, this restaurant has been a major part of my life for a long time but would you believe that literally every time we go (and we go A LOT) my brain turns to goop and I just eat blindly without getting to take a photo first??????
Samsam has turned into my partner’s and my go to restaurant for any milestone for us.
First date? Samsam.
One year anniversary? Samsam.
Valentine’s Day? Samsam.
We normally order the cheese bomb tteokbokki and a serving of two Korean fried chicken but this past Valentine’s Day we ordered just one Korean fried chicken with soy and garlic sauce, tteokbokki and as a treat bought corn cheese 🥰 we also normally buy a soju here but since both of us got very sick on soju over new years I think it’s going to take a lot of convincing before we’re able to drink it again hahaha.
This place is a must. You can’t go wrong with it if you like Korean food.

I've sampled the delights of Sam sam chicken before, however only take away. Dine in should always be the optimal choice, much fresher and succulent fried chicken!

Staff were friendly and prompt to seat us, as well as super quick to take our order. The rice cakes for our entree were delicious, spice was mild and not overpowering. Boneless chicken was the best I've had in a while! Good size and not over fried, juicy and the sauce complimented perfectly. Great dining experience.

The food is delicious, and it was our turn to line up soon. The attitude of the service staff is good 👌 Will go again next time.

First time seeing chicken being fried by a machine 🤣🤣 My friend introduce the place to me. Love the taste. Quite expensive or maybe we just don't know what to order 🤔 Anw quite nice to try. 🧀🧀

Fried chicken is not the only thing that you have to order here. The Kimchi Spam Fried Rice and Jajangmyeon are delicious in their own rights and will definitely impress with their bold and punchy flavours. But of course, you can't go past the fried chicken and kimchi fries. A cheat meal that will keep you satisfied! And check out the robot chef, Sam, on your way in!

We had the Corn cheese, crispy rice cake w sausage and soy mustard crispy chicken w the salad.
Everything was hot, fresh and delicious! Plenty of food for the two of us. The manager was very friendly and welcoming. It’s also cool that you can watch the robot make the chicken through the window

Super awesome Korean food here! Would recommend. The downstairs area does smell a little due to being a storage room with poor to no ventilation. I ordered via a QR code and paid online, which was convenient. Introverts may appreciate this. I got Kimchi Spam Fried Rice and SamSam Soy & Garlic Chicken.

The Kimchi Spam Fried Rice didn’t actually come with Spam in it - we got bacon instead. I’m not sure why this was, but somehow it still tasted great without it. It came in one of the sizzling plates (not a good idea to touch) topped with an egg, seaweed, and sliced green onions. It was really oily, but eating it made me smile uncontrollably. It was super nice, would recommend.

SamSam Soy & Garlic Chicken was good. Usually fried chicken comes overcooked, out of fear of undercooking it, but I think my chicken was cooked well. It was really juicy, but not raw. The sauce is sweet and goes well with the chicken. You also get a side of daikon and cabbage to cleanse your palette every now and then. It was super awesome, would also recommend.

We came on a weekday and were greeted by friendly staff.

We ordered the Double Combo (for 2 people) with 1 jug of beer. We chose the boneless chicken in sweet chilli sauce and hot & spicy. We paid a bit extra to choose a different beer.

The chicken was juicy and perfectly cooked. The basket was loaded with fries, but we still asked for more.

Loved the experience and will definitely come back again for more fried chicken, but not on the weekend for sure as it gets crazy packed!
