Deborah Selleck Couture

My dear late mother trained at George's Melbourne as a ladies tailor in the 1940's. Mum being very highly skilled herself recommended Deborah make my step daughters flower girl dresses when she couldn't do them. They were stunning and mum was very impressed and greatful. Thank you Deborah.

I have been meaning to write this review for a while but have been hesitant due to the current times but I believe customers have the right to be informed especially when there is $$$ involved.

I came to Deborah for a bespoke wedding dress.

Initially the consultations were okay but I then found Deborah was very combative and hard to work with. I’m a reasonable person and had realistic ideas for my wedding dress, all of which she agreed to do in our first consultation, however as the process continued I found I had to really self advocate for my ideas that we agreed on to follow through. As I said, they were all very reasonable. In the end my dress turned out beautiful ( large majority of design was my heavy input) however I had a stressful time with Deborah leading up to my wedding. I then found out Deborah has actually taken my dress design and is now publicly selling it as her own without my knowledge or consent.

I truly felt robbed as I thought coming to a “bespoke” dress designer meant your dress would be yours and yours only and it could not be replicated for any other bride to wear. If I wanted a dress that could be massed produced I would have gone to a commercial bridal store and not have paid a large amount of money for a ‘’bespoke’’ designer.

I do not recommend this company, I’m sure there are better company’s out there that wont rob you of your wedding dress design, who are easier to work with and who don’t charge $$$ in the process.
