Convenient student accommodation. A few steps away to Queen Victoria Market, close to Melbourne CBD, 15minutes walk to University Of Melbourne main campus

Warm and cosy. The thing I like most about it is the helpful and friendly administration.

Clean place.

When you are a student studying in the heart of the city, living in suburbs is not the best idea. To suit your pocket, O'Connell Residence is a good option. It was one of the best things that happened to me. If you are planning to work and study more, be at work most of your time and just need an accommodation that is in the city, O'Connell is the best option!

Considering me living on the third floor, my stay was average only because of the lift not working for 80% of my stay duration (don't worry as it has been fixed now). The students living here are gonna be your family away from family. You get your own room. Even if you are sharing your bathroom, you do not need to do any cleaning - its been taken care of! Everything is right at your door steps. You live in the free tram zone. Your rent covers - hydronic heater for your room + gas + water + internet + dishwashing liquid + regular washroom cleaning + kitchen cleaning + toiletries (handwash + paper rolls) - except electricity of which one payment of few dollars is gonna last for 7-8 months. You have an improved laundry that works as $3 wash and $2 dry. You get ample of storage to store your groceries and cutleries. You may be fortunate to have some spare/leftover cutleries, crockeries, appliances left by previous residents.
And the best part is, you will always find someone in the living room to talk to. You would never be alone unless you are an introvert, reserved or prefer to have your own space. I miss that family of mine! I miss those World-Cup Match watching, I miss the Halloween night! those unexpected dinner nights that ended up with memories that bring tears in my eyes as I type this review!

Planning to live in Melbourne city in 2023 on a budget? Don't think much! Grab your room before its too late!

I'd Give 0 stars if I could.
The place is filled with Asbestos, everything is broken, the lift is broken 80% of the time and its atleast 50 years old and theres no emergency phone inside either.
The property manager, Sonia Tang, never responds, never answers messages.
The admin at birchridge - Warren P Vine is a horrible human being.
Going to VCats about this place, it needs to be investigated.

I'd rather live in jail. Extra Small rooms, ripoff, have to go all the way down to to floor 0 foor food.
