Lunched at the Tungamah Pub today. The pub was well presented with a friendly atmosphere. Now let's get to the important stuff.... LUNCH!! I had the days special.. lamb rump, it was amazing, tender, served with mash, steamed vegetables and mint just...I don't think I have had a better pub meal anywhere.. My other half had the lambs fry and bacon (🤢not for me thanks). I can honestly say he left nothing on the plate. He thoroughly enjoyed it.
We will be making the drive again for sure.

We went on the silo art trail on Tuesday and had lunch at the Tungamah Hotel. The service was friendly, informative, and professional. It was souvlaki and burgers day and the Lamb Souvlaki was amazing. The lamb strips succulent, garlic sauce perfect, fresh iceberg lettuce and tomato combined in home made wraps. Delicious, beautiful food.
A visit to Tungamah Hotel is well worth it - a pub stuck in the old world with amazing food and service. Well done!

My wife and I decided to take her parents out for a pub meal for Australua Day. We went for a dtive to Tungamah, a quaint little town only a short drive from home in Benalla, to the Tungamah Pub. A beautiful old building, that you woukd typically find in much larger country towns.
It was currently undergoing a spruce up in some parts of the pub, but that didn't take away from the quality of service, food or amenities.
A nice little public bar hosting some of the locals and nearby campers. Has a great range of drinks, a little sports area boasting a pool table, a TV playing music videos of some of the classics, and donning Aussie sporting memorabilia on the walls.
You could choose to eat in the public bar or sit down in one of the two dining rooms or even out in the beer garden. Whilst there, go on out the back and give the cockatoo a pat. We were told it was over
30 years old and boy did he enjoy a pat!
The menu is great, boasting some classic pub meals like bangers and mash, steak, schnitzels, parmas, fish and chips, as well as some of the more modern classics such as bruschetta, salted calamarI, pasta, pizza, etc. There was also a kids menu with the usual suspects.
Now, don't be fooled by the extremely reasonably, in fact, low prices, as the quality of the food and the quality of the cooking is excellent,
WARNING.....The meals are huge! 🤪
We did notice that on the menu you could order half meals, but we never even considered that given we were all very hungry. If you can manage to eat the whole full size meal then well done!
The staff were absolutely delightly and made for a truly memorable experience. We will definitely be coming back again!
Thank you to all the staff and special thanks to the young man that cooked and served us our delicious food. We are very grateful.

Country pub with lots of 'charm'. We took our dogs and they were welcome out the back. Went with 8 people who all commented on the service, good quality and (huge) meal sizes.

What a fantastic find. We meet a lady called Catharine and she really have us the country hospitality by during us around and was so excited and spirited about the area and introduced to the cockatoo (Cocky) who lives here and entertain visitors. It was a nice change. We have visited many pubs and this one is truly memorable. It is good to see the new owners and also them going a great job with this pub. Hoping to come down next time when we are in the area. Staff were friendly and efficient service too. They also did events to help people in need, they raised a good amount for the good Friday appeal!

Stayed at short notice on a Monday night, the pub was closed but the publican Paul opened up for me to stay and even poured a few beers and cooked a great steak.
Unbelievable hospitality and one of the best pub rooms I’ve stayed in even had an ensuite.

What a great hotel. Cycled there from Wangaratta and arrived a little after 8.00 pm but the owners were so accommodating and cooked us an excellent meal. The rooms and facilities are clean and comfortable. Couldn't recommend this charming small town pub more highly.

This is a great country pub.

The staff and owner are great fun, and the food was very good value and quality.

A bonus was that the pub is located near a lion's camping spot with showers and toilets.

This is our second visit to Tangamah, and it will not be our last.
