Mesa Verde

friends recommendation! Did not disappoint. Waitress recommended the kangaroo tail- absolutely delicious. The ceviche is also really nice and creamy. My favourite was the fish tacos. Great service. Favourite drink was the hazelnut horchata- best one I’ve ever had! The veggies were also cooked very well- but standouts were the other dishes.

We had the best night at Mesa Verde! We had booked for a large group for drinks and snacks and felt totally accommodated and looked after the entire night. Shout out to Jay who looked after us and gave the best service. We will be back for another night of happy hour fun!

For our ✨ Wednesday Date Night ✨ we went to Mesa Verde and we got:

🌮 Braised Ox Tongue Tacos
🌮 Beer-battered Fish Tacos
🌮 Blue Crab Chilaquiles

The tacos came in 2 pieces, perfect for sharing. The dishes were so incredible, the list above is how we rate them - best to last, by last they’re still pretty freakin good!

The vibe was intimate & moody, plenty of seatings but make sure to book beforehand as they got so packed. Make sure to be there at least 10-15mins prior to your booking bcs there’s only one slow elevator - unless you wanna walk to 6th level via stairs.

The staff was friendly and the service was quick! Overall, we had an amazing time here & will 100% return ‼

We had a very nice experience at Mesa Verde. The cocktails were perfect, the food was excellent, and the service was faultless.

The corn chips and tortillas in particular were high quality and tasted great. The ceviche was very nice but perhaps a little overpowered by the sauce and the tomato was perhaps not needed. Otherwise I couldn’t fault the food at all.

I’m definitely looking forward to another visit.

Interesting bar that sevred a small menu of Spanish themed drinks. Venue was nearly empty during peak time on a Saturday night. Price was pricey but as to be expected for location/speciality

Service was incredibly helpful and attentative and did great job looking after us during our time. Easily hidden away but shouldn't be discounted for a visit to try something new

It is a great pleasure to have a meal here. Actually it is my first Mexico food. I love the avocado source and king fish. Because I don’t eat kangaroo meat, the chef changed it to gumbo。It is so delicious, and I have a really good time with my dear friend Chris. ( I may drink too much) will definitely come back again. Love it !

Hidden gem in CBD! Jays signature Mexican inspired cocktails were unique and refreshing! The menu is designed to share and crisp clean flavors delight your palate. Highly recommend the Kangaroo skewers and Tacos

My favorite Mexican restaurant in Melbourne! Great vibe and CBD location, the food was really flavorful, the balanced and creative seasoning give the warmth to the dishes, quality and fresh ingredients, try the oysters! Plus friendly staff and yummy Margaritas, always happy to visit, highly recommend!

Food, venue and service here were very impressive. The lager-ita is definitely worth a try, very enjoyable and unique drink and a good match for the flavours and spices used. All the dishes were beautifully presented and full of flavour. My personal favourite was the fried green tomato tacos. Really enjoyable experience overall.

Lovely Mexican restaurant and bar located in the heart of Melbourne.

The food is amazing and the serving portions are great. Especially recommend the Rib eye, Ceviche, Ox tongue taco, and their doughnuts.
There is a wide selection of cocktails, many with Mexican influences so it's definitely a multiple trip kind of place to try them all.
The highlight of the night was their service. We went as a three, and instead of having to figure out how to share the 2 tacos per serving, they gave us 3 per serving instead. The waiters and waitresses were also super patient with answering questions and extremely knowledgeable about all the menu choices.
Overall, I highly recommend booking and trying this place.

The online pictures do not do this gem of a place justice! By far one of the best Mexican restaurants I've been to. The food was great, the staff were exception and it had an epic cross vibe going on with great background tunes too. Knowledgeable and passionate bar staff were more than happy to explain the impressive range and variations of agave spirits. Care taken with very well presented dishes and drinks. Highly recommend you check this place out - you won't be disappointed.

We were here a few weeks ago for a Hens Party and had some delicious cocktails! Our server, Erica, was amazing! She gave us drink recommendations, suggested other bars for our night out, and made the bride feel so special 👏🏼 She’s the reason we would be back again! Thank you Erica!

I can't even begin. Everytime we come here I can't even get a picture of the food it's so amazing. Fave Mexican place in the city. My partner loves it and I organised to come here for Valentine's Day and it was the best decision. Okay yes, it's on the 6th floor and the lift only fits 6 people at a time and is about as slow as a crippled grandpa collecting his mail, but the stairs mean you get to work for your food. Definately recommend a reservation as it's pretty packed. The menu changes often enough, so try everything while you can, because we sure do. The bar staff is also amazing, I don't do tequila but my partner really does and always gets great recommendations from the bar staff. Also, if you don't like tequila, try the verdita anyway. It's the green Bloody Mary-like drink that comes with tequila flights and it is beautiful. 15/10

Edit: maybe the 5th? time we've been here. Quality is still amazing.

Mesa Verde was the perfect location for our group of 7.

Their cocktails are priced really well compared to what's out there in Melbourne. The Palomas go down really easy and the Ghostface Killah is probably one of the spiciest margs i've ever had (In a good way, loved the combo of smokey and spice).

We dined on the a la carte menu, all the food came out really quickly. Highlight for me would be the Ox Tongue tacos, burst of flavours and the meat just melts in your mouth.

Will be back!

They do a bottomless lunch for $65 pp which includes a range of different Mexican cocktails including palomas, bhatangas (which were my fave which was coke, tequila, lime and a spicy rim), prosecco and beer 🍻

The food was unreallllll and so authentic! We loved every single minute of it! My fave probably being the quesadilla which I don’t have a pic of sorry cause I was too excited to eat it 🙈. Our waitress was incredibly lovely and went out of her way to provide such amazing service. Not to mention all the staff were amazing. I will definitely be coming back here, the decor, food and service was an 11/10 ⭐

Tasty Mexican in a bar setting...was a bit noisy but definitely great atmosphere! Some dishes were too spicy for my partner but okay for me! Eg chicken quesadilla and crispy prawn. Lovely fish tacos. Helpful and friendly staff

Had the best night at this eclectic venue- from rooftop to restaurant .It shines the most incredible light on modern Mexican food that just blows you away and cocktails that delight the senses.Topped off by the special service under the ever-attentive eye of Jay!!!

What a great idea to visit here. Came for short holidays and found this Mexican inspired menu with a very tasty selection (Ox tongue delicious and the corn was delightful my two fav) my best girlfriend show me this gem in the CBD. Although, customer Service exceptional, our waitress - Alma - gues was her name; provided such a memorable experience, knowledge in the menu and very attentive and helpfulwith questions and food. Definitely, I'll back next time I visit Melbourne.
