Went with two friends for lunch yesterday, 25th April 2024, at this restaurant. We were welcomed warmly by the staff. The staff member explained the type of food served very clearly and suggested some of the culinary delights. The presentation of all the food was beautifully presented. I’ll definitely be dining here again. Highly recommend.

I kept hearing about this place and finally got to try it with friends. Love their combination! We ordered a few light bites to start, King fish sashimi, Truffle Egg White, Kingfish Ceviche and Beef Rendang Spring Roll are my favourites. Also impressed by the tasty Truffle Pork Xiao Long Bao and the Vietnamese Coffee Brownie.

The cocktails were also tasty, ordered this tipple time and Singapore spritz and did not disappoint. Super flavourful and refreshing.

Service was also great, we were shown the special menu of the day which we’ll remember for our next visit.

The best fusion in town!! The food was well-crafted, and the zing of freshness came through every plate from Entrees to Desserts. Got to try the Kingfish Sashimi on Malaysian Sambal - the BEST amongst the Bests. The mains were well articulated to pair with other mains on the menu. Dessert is rich and decadent and cocktails just seal the deal off for us. Worth every cent as the Service was attentive and ambience is quiet, cosy, and inviting. Will definitely visit again especially now that they have introduced the affordable set lunch menu for those on the go. Thanks 8 - we love you!!!!!

The chef feast is a surprise! There were seven courses and two cocktails. It was delicious and worth it!

Discovered this Asian fusion gem in Prahran!! Highly recommend the set menu - the food was incredible and beautifully presented. For just $68 per person, it comes with a selection of cocktails too 🍸

The crispy pork belly and kingfish ceviche were chef’s kiss 🫶, and loved the dessert spread. Will definitely be coming back soon!

Went as a group to try Eight. The food was absolutely delicious and we had a fantastic night. The cocktails were super creative and tasted delicious. Our favourite foods were the sashimi and the beef rendang spring rolls. The flying noodles was also very tasty and the presentation was very cool. We will definitely be back.

Found this new fusion restaurant, was there for lunch and enjoyed their food and ambiance. Loved their set menu - every dish was delicious and it even came with cocktails!

Must Try! Dumpling & Yuzu chicken fantastic. Cauliflower cooked a bit too hard but tasty. Will definitely come back again to try other foods in the menu.

This restaurant serves Asian fusion food and some combination of food surprised me indeed.

Food:
The food is creative and delicious. How surprisingly sambal match with king fish and duck breast with cha siu sauce would be so nice. Oyster is fresh too.

Environment:
The place is cosy and nice.

Today in Prahran this restaurant dinner, this is a new restaurant, let us experience both the service and experience are very good 👍🏻 and our point of every dish is very good, ~ chaple st has been my dinner shopping base 🥹, this shop is open in the street full of art, simple shop design is very advanced, very suitable for dating and girlfriends party, drink a cocktail chat place ~ like Asian food friends can come here to try 👀!

Personally, I have no resistance to oysters 🦪 sashimi, this restaurant's oysters are served with tom yum kung juice, which makes the taste very special. The oysters are very fresh, crunchy and sweet, and be sure to squeeze the lemon on them to maximise the freshness of the sashimi!

- Snacks/ Beer battered Salt & Pepper Calamari
This beer-marinated salt and pepper squid is so delicately plated 🥹! I feel like I love all the presentation of this restaurant, the squid itself may be slightly springy and tender, the overall flavour is supposed to be rich and multi-layered, with the winey aroma of the beer and the tangy spiciness of the peppercorns, it's such a tasty and tempting tapas!

I really have to brag about these Black Truffle Pork Xiao Long Bao 😭! The Black Truffle Buns give off a rich black truffle aroma, which is so unique, and when you eat it, you can first feel the tenderness of the thin skin of the buns, and after eating it, you can really tell the calibre of the chef of this shop! It's really so delicious! Remember to eat it while it's still hot!

Believe me! This Black Truffle Wagyu Beef Fried Rice is a must order 🥹 It will bring you a luxurious and rich taste experience 🥹 The deep aroma of the black truffle will attract your attention when you eat it, and the freshness of the beef blends perfectly with the flavour of the black truffle!

This Mango and Papaya Salad is made with shredded green mango and papaya and has a very special Asian flavour, which is perfect to eat after you're full 😁!

-Wok Tossed Broccolini
How is it impossible for Cantonese to not eat bok choy 🥬! This stir-fried broccoli is served with oyster sauce, which is delicate and has a familiar flavour.

- Mango pudding
For dessert, I picked the mango pudding, it's pretty and delicious 🥹!!!!

-Cocktails
We tasted the seasonal drink menu, cocktails recommended The eight. eight, Forbidden City, Malagarita, like sweet and not easy to get drunk wine, recommended colada Punch, these cocktail face value is so fancy!!!! This Malagarita is different from the traditional specials, and the bartender is very good at what he does！

The charcoal hargao with their secret spicy sauce is to die for. Staffs are nice and accommodating. Will definitely come back to try all other dishes and order the hargao again

The restaurant had a truly relaxing atmosphere that my family really liked. The menu was simple and straightforward, yet comprehensive. The staff were also very helpful and accommodating. The food was beautifully presented and very very yummy, pretty unique too especially the Kingfish sashimi. The bill came out more affordable than anticipated for such a great experience. Highly recommended!

Absolutely loved my dining experience here! The staff were incredibly friendly and made us feel welcome from the moment we stepped in. The food was nothing short of delicious, with the Chicken & Ginger Siu Mai dumplings being a particular highlight for us - a definite must-try. And let's not forget the signature cocktails; the Eight & Forbidden City were both original and exceptionally good. Highly recommend for a fantastic meal and great atmosphere!

We loved the dinner here! Especially the Truffle pork Xiao long bao. The food were delightful and the venue had a great vibe. We left absolutely gleeful and look forward to visiting again in the future. Strongly recommended 💕

It is always interesting to try a new local restaurant given Melbourne's wide offerings and rich food culture - yet without doubt Eight Restaurant and Bar will truly enrich Melbourne dining and soon become a restaurant of choice.

The design and ambience of the restaurant provides for a warm and intimate setting, catering for different size groups. The service throughout was efficient with a balanced amount of staff attentiveness to explain both the food and beverage menus, along with friendly customer interaction.

The food menu offers a wide variety of delicious dishes with portions generous for sharing. The Char Sui duck accompanied by a crisp mango and papaya salad certainly complimented our Salt and Pepper Tofu and succulent Chicken and Ginger Sui Ma dumpling appetisers - the dumplings being so good we tried a second serve to ensure consistency, which of course was upheld.

It is difficult to go past the bespoke cocktail list, noting also that classic cocktails are available on request. For something new and exciting do try the Eight cocktail, a delicious and refreshing mix served with 'fascination'.

Overall, a fantastic dining experience catering from casual through to formal dining in an elegant setting in a very convenient location - congratulations to team Eight and wishing you great success!
