Dainty Sichuan Hot Pot - Box Hill

The hot pot here is so good. A good range of hot pot soup bases to choose from. I had the Abalone and black chicken one and you actually get a whole piece of Abalone and chicken pieces, yum!

The self serve buffet section has a good range of delicious cooked food, salad, prawn crackers, dipping sauces, desserts, fruit and ice poles. The fried mochi balls is so yummy.

This is one of my favourite hot pot places. Good service as well.

Excellent sichuan hot pot. Delicious and quality ingredients and soup, nice and spicy without blowing your head off!. The service was nice too. I took my siblings here for their first hot pot experience, and they loved it. Would recommend for those looking for good spicy hot pot.

Much improved after renovation and the introduction of self service food along with sauce! Makes it more competitive with haidilao just around the corner. We’ve also noticed the staff are much more friendly (compared to say pre covid) which is a nice change. Now we actually would recommend friends to check out the place! I especially liked how their are some ice blocks available - that is one thing that’s more on offer compared to haidilao

We've become regulars at Dainty Sichuan in Box Hill, primarily because of the exceptional service, especially from Ivy. The recent renovation at the Box Hill branch has made the dining experience even more enjoyable. The fresh barramundi and combo meat offer was a fantastic deal for a limited time period. Additionally, the condiment area now boasts a greater variety of dips, snacks, and ice creams. It's truly a great value for money, offering both excellent food and outstanding service.

They’ve renovated their restaurant, with hotpot it now comes with complimentary “buffet” where you can get fried noodles, fried rice etc. with no additional cost.
My spicy hotpot base did turn a little bit bitter at the end, but it was probably because of being boiled for a long time.
Overall definitely recommend this place, will come back in the future.

Very delicious hot pot here. The beef and mutton combo is quite good and also the quail eggs and fish. The soup stock is very flavourful as well. Service is very good & attentive as we came very early and the crowd size was only medium sized at that time.

It is a great place for Korean food. Service is great and food is fantastic. Strongly recommended.

When your looking for a hotpot experience that is a little but more up market then the rest. I can always rely on Dainty Sichuan to provide it.

From the individual mini pots to the way they display the food it really is an experience unlike most of the regular hot pots around Melbourne.

Soup is regularly topped up and there sauce bar is quite extensive so you really can create your own sauce masterpiece the way you like.

The venue is quite large so group's that are both large and small can easily fit into it and it doesn't feel like everyone is crowded together and staff are quite attentive, constantly topping up your broth and making sure your soup does not run out.

My favourite Hot pot place in Melbourne. This restaurant is in Box Hill Victoria. Which is about an 30 mins away from the city. Train station is nearby. First I thought cooking my own food at a restaurant is pretty stupid but this was an wonderful and fun experience. The food was really nice. Wide range to choose from and which service. The place is clean and a lot of staff to take care of you. If anyone is craving for Hot Pot, you should definitely try this place out.

Exceeded my expectation for Sichuan hotpot. Loved the richness of the spicy soup which was filled with Sichuan chilies, though it was a bit too hot for me.. The stock soup is also amazing - you won’t be bored as it has so many toppings, goji berries, spring onion, spam ham, mushroom, dates and many others.
A great variety of hotpot sauce is also provided. Also ordered lamb, duck blood, tofu platter, vegetable, fried pork(too oily), plum drink. Lamb boiled in spicy soup and dipped in hotpot sauce is my All Time Favorite!!!
Overall food is quite fresh; service is good. Get a taste of traditional Chinese culture from all the restaurant decors around you :-)

There are many choices of side dishes, and they are all delicious. The soup base is ok, not so fragrant and not so spicy. The pork slice is good, the Shrimp Meatballs is delicious , the overall environment is beautiful!

Best place for Szechuan Style Hot Pot with huge selection of hit pot ingredients, sauces and hot/cold dishes. Best to make reservations for larger group as this place does get very busy!

I went here with my partner and we both loved the experience! We weren't entirely sure what we were doing for the first half of our stay, but between the friendly, attentive and well supplied staff, and wondering up to the sauce buffet a bit sheepishly before asking if we were "allowed to just dig in" (yes you can!), we managed to get what we wanted and have a really fun time.

Children/western people friendly options we tried: pak choi, sliced pork and lamb, soy bean sprouts, plain noodles and rice. Which we added some more flavour to from the spice buffet options. Our base soups were the pork rib and lotus soup and the oxtail soup.

Meat are fresh! Atmosphere is good! Nice service as well!

Wow, if one has to define experience in one word! Excellent food, fabulous service. The servers assigned to our table were fantastic, always smiling and ready to help. Excellent sense of humor.

Very good quality food and a lot of dipping sauces for the yummy hot pot!
