Major Mitchell Cafe

One of my favorite cafes 2024 for sure, good, breakfast, coffee, and lovely service. It feels warm sitting inside , outside is equally nice and comfortable. Our first time but definitely not the last. Will definitely return and highly recommendable 👍

A very nice place for great service, tasty food and conversation. Plenty of seating arrangements and choice of outdoor or indoor dining. Staff are attentive, greet with a smile and are happy to help. Would highly recommend this place for breakfasts and brunch. Food presentation was definitely a consideration at Major Mitchell, for the great experience I'm definitely coming back.

This place is so lovely! Especially if you have little kids. Outside area has a gorgeous little play area. Do yourself a favour and go. I had the best coffee. Toasted croissants and cakes incredible! What a find!

Major Mitchell Cafe is a delicious café in Carnegie that serves delicious food. The food at Major Mitchell is cooked to perfection and overall is very nice and good. Highly recommended!

Awesome place on the corner of Grange Rd in Carnegie.
Have their very own head chef on site. Food menu isn't the largest though, could be bigger, however the drinks menu has quite a variety to choose from.
Food presentation is 10/10 💖
Service was great, very lovely waiters.
Atmosphere is probably the thing that stands out about this place the most - you can tell a lot of money has been poured into this place. And with that, comes a hefty price tag. I'm in full agreeance with the 15% surcharge on public holidays; however the extra 10% on weekends is not warranted, as it's in the hospitality industry - the weekends are your bread & butter. I just hope the extra coin from the surcharge goes into the pockets of the staff & not the owners.

I had a lovely brunch with girlfriends at Major Mitchell, we sat outside, in a glorious setting and all the food we ordered was delicious. I will definitely be back soon.

Love, love, looove this place! It’s such a gorgeous cafe in the midst of Carnegie. I love the outdoor setting. You feel like you’ve escaped suburbia.
I got the mushroom on a truffled potato rosti and a rose latte. It was so delicious.
The staff are also lovely and provide fantastic service!
I’ve had a number of people rave on about this place to me and now I know why ☺! I think I’ve found my new stomping ground!

Great place for brunch, super spacious and lots of indoor and outdoor seating. The matcha latte was amazing and all the food we ordered was great as well. Definitely recommend the shakshuka, super tangy with perfectly cooked eggs and crispy Chickpeas

Lovely, well presented Cafe with good interior and garden seating. It is a nice venue for semi casual business meetings. The menu is limited but there is something for everyone. The food is very good though premium priced.

Everything was just spot on here, converting this corner residential house into a stunning cafe was a fantastic idea. The outdoor area is large, bright, beautiful AND dog friendly, our pup @abby.the.spoodle had a great time!

🌹 Iced Rose Latte $6.50
🌶 Chilli scrambled eggs on thick cut sourdough w/ chilli and garlic oil, hoisin mayo, spring onion and ginger relish $21.50
🥯 Reuben bagel w/ corned beef, mustard cream cheese, sauerkraut, swiss cheese, rocket and a fried pickle $21.50 + side of chips

Loved the Rose Latte, very sweet but was a great alternative drink!

Chilli Scramble was full of flavour, toast was a bit too soggy though and hard to cut.

Reuben Bagel was delicious and very generous in the filling. Chips worked really well with this dish on the side.

The place is really beautiful and cosy, I had number of special requests to make my event special, Katie the owner was so lovely and accommadated as much as she could. It was a lovely time we had and the food was yummy too.

Beautiful brunch spot in Carnegie with a great number of options on the menu (they also do lunch). I had the hotcake which was stunning! Coffee is always really good, sit in and take away. The option to sit outside or inside depending on weather (and availability) is helpful especially if you come with kids.

Our first visit, and we were impressed by the quality of the food. A lovely and charming cafe. The decoration is impressive. Lovely staff. Would definitely come back.

Lovely morning spent with friends eating some delicious food with great coffee. I love the atmosphere both inside and outside under the umbrellas. The staff are friendly and attentive, the bathrooms are clean and well maintained and the overall experience was very positive indeed. Will be going back. The only slight negative is that parking is tricky, but that is pretty minor in the scheme of things. Great venue, highly recommend.

Such a beautiful day spent having brunch w/ my girlfriends for my bday. We were put in the champagne room, Sitting 16 of us well. The waiters were so great and really welcoming. A few of us were a little late due to trying to find a car park, however they were all so understanding. The food was beautiful and so tasty.
I highly recommend this cute lil spot, especially now that the sun is out.

A corner block weatherboard home converted into a funky (probably wrong use of the word) and cool cafe. The pink theme is splashed literally everywhere here, including the sauces/spreads on the food!

Staff were super friendly and helpful, food was quite good (we think there is room for improvement perhaps) but nonetheless very good.

The Rueben bagel was a nice twist (unlike the original oily version) and the Ramen was surprisingly refreshing.

Loved every bit of this place. An aesthetically pleasing cafe, so a must for all the Instagram girlies! The drinks were so pretty and delicious too. Highly recommend it.

Amazing beverages and food, wonderful staff, and a great location!!
We ordered coffee by Daly St., iced latte, and strawberry milkshake with jerk chicken and chicken katsu sandwich. It was yummyliciously great, and the staff were amazing! The location is fantastic both indoors and outdoors, the set-up is minimal, classy, and subtle. Great neighbourhood find!
Checked with them and confirmed that the chicken they serve is halal.

Beautiful venue located on the edge of Carnegie. Service was very efficient and staff were friendly.

Coffee was good quality.

Chicken Katsu Sandwich was very filling, the thickness of the bread definitely helped. The seaweed attached was a little dry.

The soft shell crab burger looked good, and tasted even better.

The chips were well seasoned and the house aoili was smooth.

A sitting for two people on the weekend will likely be $50+, but worth a visit.

The circular tables are small compared to the the size of dishes - might feel a little cramped.

I had brunch today at Major Mitchell for the first time with a group of friends and we were blown away by the incredible food and service. The soft shell crab was a standout dish, along with the delicious salad, smashed avocado, and Reuben sandwich. The staff were fantastic, accommodating to all dietary needs and providing spectacular customer service. To top it off, the coffee was perfection. I highly recommend Major Mitchell to anyone looking for a great dining experience!
