Quaint little supermarket tucked away near the Dandes but with an amazing range of food you just don't see anywhere else these days, and good prices, and friendly service. Not to mention a pick & mix bar!

It's way bigger than I thought it might be! I'm an American visiting, and I wanted to get some familiar ingredients to bake for my friends. This place has some American vegan brands, like Tofutti, and a big range of vegan products helpful for baking generally. The building itself is definitely dated, but it's clean and I like the vintage neon - if you hold off on renovating long enough, things will come back into fashion! The prices were definitely a bit more expensive, but not too much more on average. I think it balances out with the amount of non-typical items they have on offer. Definitely recommended.

Always like a visit. Good pastries and brands that you have not seen in a while. Not cheap to be sure. You don't go there if you are after bargains but you go for what you need and it's great. Has a real 'old world's supermarket feel to it. Large and lots of options aside the brands you know

A great range of groceries, good quality produce, served by humans, in a great little center - you can get all you need here. Let's support these guys, don't resort to being "members of the club" as you would be with coleworths.

although some soft cheese was on the shelf 4 days past use by date, and some ultra stale breads on sale, it's a nice big shop akin to Leo's with great selection of products just keep an eye on the expiry dates.

The enormous selection of Pukka teas says it all! Great range, specialty breads, cheeses and deli. Prices are ok. Lots of eco products and health foods / allergy-friendly stuff. Helpful having chemist and variety shop in same centre.

We love maxi foods, has more real brand food items that Safeway and Coles combined, has an enormous health food section great delicatessen and what they done have in fresh meat the butcher opposite does. The isles are plenty wide for you move your trolley through unlike Safeway and Cole’s, Easy access for wheelchairs and never packed that you need to fight your way through the crowds

This is an excellent place for high quality consumables. Think a curated version of Woolies and Coles. I was going to give it 4 stars but changed my mind to give them 5 stars. Why? 2 reasons. The main one being that the web site is so poor that it doesn't really reflect how good the store is and the second reason is that I have yet to sample even remotely more than 10% of what is available.

We've always popped into Maxis over the year, but we really learned the value of this store during LockDown, Maxis became our supermarket where we bought all of our groceries. I must admit I was and am still impressed by the wide range of goods available, with many high quality locally sourced products.

As such, after Lockdown, Maxis is still where I do my weekly shop. The staff are very friendly and helpful, the quality of the produce is excellent and none of those terrible 'self service' checkouts.

If you are after vegan or organic produce or making something special, you'll also find it here. I can buy things at Maxis that I once had to drive into the Prahran Market for.

Keep up the great work, I am happy to give Maxis and the staff a 5/5 stars.

Eclectic specialist supermarket.
Good fish selection and really good breads too.
If you live near Ferntree Gully and you don't shop here at least occasionally then you are really missing out.
Maxi stocks so many lines that the major supermarkets do not stock... and so many are really high quality products that are hard to find normally.
This supermarket rocks!!

Love this shop. Has everything, loads of different brands. Brands that you can't buy in Woolies and Coles. The meat is top class, no shoe leather sold here. Health food, herbs spices, great quality stuff. A little bit more expensive on some things than Coles and Woolies but the quality of the fruit and veg, and meat is superior. Fast check out with 3 or 4 staff on the fast lines and plenty of other tills open with friendly and helpful staff. I haven't been in Coles or Woolies for over a year since I started using this shop. I still use Aldi as well for some stuff which is cheaper than anywhere else, but my go to is definitely Maxi now.
