Bombay Grocery and Cafe

Delicious vegetarian find at an unassuming location. We had a late lunch and a lassi. When I remarked on how good the meal was, we found out all of the foods made on the premesis. As we were eating, it seemed that people in the know came in for their warm savoury snacks and fresh sweets to take away. I wish we had taken away more too. Great value, lovely service from Karan- and the sweets were brilliant! I thought Gulab Jamun was my favourite sweet, but Karan introduced us to other flavours to make sure we had the freshest and the best. Definitely worth stopping by for a high quality meal at a very reasonable price.

These guys are fantastic. The food is absolutely delicious and the prices are very reasonable. I'm pretty certain the most expensive thing on the menu is about $12 and many yummy options for about half that. The service is very friendly, professional and fast. We tried a number of the tidbits and loved all of them and then we tried the dhosa (pictured) and it was completely divine. I especially loved the coconut chutney that came with it. We also had an explore around the supermarket section and were very impressed with the choice and prices. Will definitely be coming back when next in the area. If I wasn't so full I would have tried there lassi which was only $3 so I'll have to come back just to try that I think! If you have even a slight hankering for some good, affordable Indian food with great service do yourself a favour and see these guys. You won't regret it.

The food here is really delicious. Tried the thaali that consisted of paratha, various sabzi, rice and sweets of our choice. Lip smacking!

We had some amazing upwas thali which was not available anywhere in Melbourne and nearby suburbs. Amazing and delicious food. Went on nostalgic trip and the chef was great as well. Open to critisism and courteous.

Great shop, with lots of lovely food. The Cafe food is also amazing. The staff are friendly and offered us a sample of the different curries to try. Lots of food at a great price. We ate at the Cafe and we had to get a doggy bag to take some home because we couldn't get through it all. Amazing value, I can highly recommend the Bombay Grocery & Cafe!

Great place for a feed and a shop, the staff have consistently been amazing, friendly, proactive and informative.
If you have ever wanted real Indian food I can't recommend a better place. The Currys are fresh and full of flavour, staff will happily share their food and help you choose, prices are just as good.
Definitely recommend coming in and speaking to this amazing group of people

We visit this store regularly and we love it. The owners are always friendly and happy to assist. The Khoya they sell is the best quality ever seen in melbourne. Great variety of Indian street food too.

I kid you not! I felt like walking into a very traditional Indian store with a wonderful host and lovely atmosphere. There was a fresh cooked egg plant dish in the take away area which was a brilliant vegetarian dish. The vada and Samosa was substantial and would fill a regular person up without any other meal. Brilliant store and I know where to go next time I am down in Melbourne for some traditional Indian atmosphere.

One of the best Indian stores. This store is one stop destination for all things indian. Also must add that their hospitality is great too.. the staff is well trained and attends you very well, I was guided by a very nice staff member, he guided me well and was very polite.
