Cooloola (Noosa River) Resources Reserve

A beautiful stretch of the river, the tranquillity as well as the bird life. I saw pelicans, swans, egrets, grebes, cormorants and quite a few others. If you have the day, head up to camp-site three and enjoy the walk up to the Cooloola Sandpatch, it takes an effort but the view is worth it.

I’m not sure why the people above gave such a terrible name to such a beautiful place. The hike to the lake doesn’t take long, depending on your fitness level. Race there in 30 min., or meander along looking at everything and get there in 2 hours. Either way, the view is fantastic and the air is fresh. What more do you need?

So beautiful, can be a lot of effort to Canoe down, but is well worth it if you have the time. Not for the faint of hearted as takes a lot of energy!

Wonderful place to explore. Great for hiking, canoes and kayaks. --- Not bad for power boats as well. (Very shallow --- 6 knot limit applies, and consideration for paddlers is always needed.)
