Appreciation is turning up to an Airbnb close to the venue you need to be at the next day. I was expecting a small comfortable room. After spending time with one of the owners of this sprawling country property, Libby, I now realise that it’s an endless, bountiful and very ongoing project. Heartfelt dedication, love and time resulting in perfection. Structurally speaking, it could only be described as organic. Locally sourced building materials to impress even serious critics. For example: the base of the bathroom sink was originally a butchers block. It has been carefully treated and it represents taking recycling to a level of restoration therefore lasting forever. All of the materials come from the area and therefore, everything has meaning. There is a huge section of ceiling at the entrance that is original & very rustic looking corrugated iron. The use of brick, wood & copper contribute to the overall ambience. The finishing touches of tartan woollen blankets, rugs, cushions and lovely artwork support this little haven of refined taste and luxurious comfort. Locally sourced marmalade and homemade bread, muesli, oats, fruit, yogurt, & milk, plus a decanter of port wine from one of the nearby wineries. Once you unpack the history and the family stories you realise that the magic is simply in appreciation for not only its history, FD but every little thing, including changes to rooms plus the planting of trees that link to the birth of children and grand children that now get to enjoy the legacy. A bountiful garden full of wild flowers, Holly and most likely, a plethora of things to discover tomorrow. Holly House Bed and Breakfast is centrally situated in the King Valley. It is surrounded by lovely gardens and beautiful views of Mount Buffalo and the King River flats. Moyhu provides the ideal touring base for the Milawa Gourmet Region, the Glenrowan area, Beechworth and beyond. Holly House 2307 Wangaratta Whitfield Road Moyhu Victoria. My photos are not going to do it justice. I’m looking forward to sharing this little gem with some beautiful teaching friends this weekend and in the future, hopefully my husband. It would be an amazing winter holiday with surrounding farms, a pub and endless snow capped mountain. There’s a pot bellied stove and a very cosy feel. Time to relax and enjoy it, although I simply can’t wait to fully explore the whole entire area. Victoria is beautiful and I’m grateful to be back🙏

Worth every penny! The host with the most (as they say) greeted with a smile. The most comfortable bed and surrounds in the best central location for the wine and foody. Libby supplies the best in home made bread and jam with other treats for your stay. We enjoyed our week stay so much we are planning for the next one in spring.

Libby is an awesome host and the accommodation is just fabulous, so comfortable and spacious and so many special little touches. Everything you could wish for is there. We loved the open fire and thanks again Libby for making us great dinner reservations! With so many great spots to visit close by, I would highly recommend Holly House to anyone travelling in north east Victoria.

What a little gem in Moyhu.

Libby, our host, was warm, friendly and professional and greeted us with a smile.

Our accommodation was brilliant, quirky Scottish castle theme living area, gorgeous fire place with stunning copper chimney big TV with Netflicks, WiFi and very comfy lounge with each side having its own recliner function, perfect for a movie.

The bedrooms were excellent with quality linen, towels, etc, and a jack and jill bathroom between the two king bedrooms. The bathroom was very nicely appointed with a great walk-in shower and plentiful hot water.

Home made marmalade with our breakfast toast, which can also be purchased (I couldn't resist it was that good). Tea (great selection), coffee, milk provided, along with cereals, yoghurt etc for a continental breakfast.

We slept soundly in this quiet location, occasionally hearing a mooing cow lol.

Would definitely go back. Recommended.

Peaceful setting. So clean and comfortable. Perfect spot to stay and explore the King Valley.

Quiet ,serene , and close to most of North East Victoria's most beautiful tourist destinations .....
