Golden Grain Hotel

I don't know what other people are saying about the bad service or bad food.
I had the Scotch Fillet Steak with chips and salad, and if I was not in public, I would have licked the plate clean.
The girls behind the bar were providing a great service to all, very friendly staff and patrons.
It's an old pub with a great atmosphere.
Driving a b-double truck from Pinnaroo to Hallam (Dandenong) 3 times a week, I will be making time to stop at the Golden Grain Pub again and many times after that.

Just called in on the way back from Robe to get some lunch. Omg best feed in town, service was great they all made you feel welcomed. I would call in again if going past here.

We were travelling from Central West NSW to McLaren Vale and had some terrible food experiences on the way. However, at the Golden Grain in Pinnaroo we were absolutely blown away by the chicken salad and grilled fish, which was both a healthy option for me and gluten free for my partner. In this pretty spot in a quaint town this was an absolute delight and exactly what we needed. I would highly recommend as a pit stop.

Stopped here on a public holiday to try and find a vegetarian meal, and were absolutely blown away! Heaps of choices and really delicious meals. Very accommodating staff who were very helpful and friendly.

Hands down an amazing place to stay. Bunch of amazing woman work and run the joint.
Had a blast the 2 nights I stayed with hubby and his work crew.
Super friendly. Good tasty AF food.
Good time all round. Planing to head back up again soon.

Beautiful scotch
Reef and beef. Everyone's steak was amazing, all 4 of us. Lovely, friendly staff and locals. Beautiful and clean. Definitely recommend this place. Great nightly specials too.. Dinner and service was very much appreciated tonight.

This is a lovely country pub, very friendly staff. The electricity was out when we arrived but with all hands on deck and lots of candles dinner was served, drinks poured and good cheer occurred! Dogs welcome with a great enclosed beer garden for furry ones ( and kids).The rooms are basic but clean and comfortable. Not glitzy but terrific.

Great pub very close to the caravan park and pool. Dog friendly garden, great food and service & well priced bottles of wine and food. Would highly recommend it if you are passing through or staying overnight. Good job.👍🍻🥩🍟🥗🍷

Unbelievable venue. Travelled from Melbourne and enjoyed a few beverages and some lunch . Needless to say , the service , beer and food were exemplary . Will be certain to return , if only the pubs in Melbourne were half as humble and special as this .

Would recommend to anyone travelling through the Mallee.

Was one of best mixed grills I have ever had. Staff are top shelf 👌 👍 We will be back to sample more of the menu. True country pub. Keep up the good work, well worth the drive.

I prefer to stay in pubs when I travel. Mostly to save a few dollars, I guess. I pick the location and look at the reviews to see if most are happy. Well, here’s another happy review for this place. I don’t care that the paintwork is cracked and peeling, or if the carpet is worn here and there. What I got here was a warm welcome, a nice pub meal, the cricket put on the TV in the dining room for me (I was alone). My room was warm. My bed was comfot@ble. I had a TV to watch the rest of the cricket. Everyone in this place was friendly and helpful. When I leave early tomorrow and I drop my key in the box, I hope they read this review and hear my appreciation. I don’t need much. Just the basics done well. Well done,

Well affordable. $50 a night. Cute roooms, with a tv and Aircon, the quirks of this hotel are so cool. The stairs to the hotel rooms are a little tiring if you have a bad knee and ankle but it's so worth it. Even have a balcony for smoking on.
Great comfy beds too. Excellent food sooooo worth the price

Came into town thinking the bakery would be open, but it wasnt. What followed was one hell of a burger - their patties are a great mix and add a lot you dont see in your average meal.
Locals and staff were friendly

Clean and Tidy, grab a cold one guaranteed a relaxing weekend away. Everything is centrally located, so a short walk to the shops if needed.

Honestly can't wait for my next visit, the food is delicious and the beer is cold, crisp and refreshing.

Great food and friendly staff. A lovely grassed area for the kids to unwind after a few hours locked in the car.
