We started the trail from Horseshoe Bay, visited Balding Bay which was a easier walk. Continued onto Radical Day and that was hard work.

We don’t normally hike or do walks and found this trail very steep. However, Well worth doing. Wear good footwear and hat. Take a small packed lunch, good lunch spot, water, camera, swimwear.

A nice beach accessible via a short but steep hike from Horseshoe Bay. Not usually busy even on weekends. No lifeguards at beach, best visited in the middle of the year outside of stinger season.

An amazing place to go for a relaxing walk along the beach, have a swim in the cool clear water. Or a picnic under one the the shady trees. It's a great place to anchor your boat and go ashore. It can be accessed by road too. I have been several times and even done some snorkeling seeing some great fish.

Somewhat challenging (3000 steps) up the beautiful mountain trail, running through the jungles mixed with eucalyptus layout. U will be welcomed by breeze coming off the actual beach itself once on the summit. Fantastic beach with no people, super clear water, fine sand, somewhat pink in the sunset, given the nearby rock minerals, beautiful round huge rock formations, plenty of coconut Palms and frangipani trees. Swim nude, no one will judge, given U are the oy one on the beach. Visited a week before Easter.

Wow... A stunning oasis. Beautiful in every way, everywhere you look. The crystal clear water is wonderful for a well earned swim after your journey to get here. Paradise...

Very beautiful beach, reachable only by walking such that there is a good chance you'll be the only person there. In theory, there is a road to the beach, but it is in very very bad shape and closed (I think). To my knowledge, no car rental will allow you to drive here, even with 4WD, and chances of getting stuck are pretty high, indeed.
If you decide to go for a swim, make sure to put a stinger suite on as there have been stings this year. Moreover, there is no reception such that calling help will be difficult, too.

Great place for swimming or party on the beach. Hidden bay with nice sand and shallow water. Big tree are good for shadow.

This is a gorgeous little beach is secluded on the other side of the island. The only way there is by water or a long hiking trail. But well worth the hike if you are up for it. It's not an easy hike, so be prepared to jump in the water to cool off at the other end. It has a huge but beautiful tree just off the beach that was a real treat to sit under. This was one of my highlights of the stay on Maggie Island.

Beautiful bay that is worth the trek there. Bring water and stop for breaks if you need as there are a lot of steps to get there but once you’re there - wow

It’s been a long time since I was las here. The resort The was there and in disrepair has been demolished and now it is virgin again. Unfortunately many disobey rules and drive 4x4 vehicles thru to the beach. But it is a lovely spot, just a pity the lovely old place was abandoned. Plenty of great fishing once out and around the rocks. Many areas are no fishing zones so be aware of where you are. Getaboutislandtours can take you to the best spots.

Beautiful place. Stay off the beach as it's Turtle season, but lovely quiet spot for a beach read. 4wd access only

I visited Radical Bay first time in 1990 and second time in 1995. I can only describe the beach and the surroundings as one of the most beautiful beaches I've ever been to.
On my first visit we hiked from Arcadia and spend a couple of hours swimming and relaxing on the beach. On my last visit we drove from Picnic Bay in a rented Mini Moke and found the road in a bit challenging for the poorly powered vehicle. Again we spent time swimming and relaxing.

I can understand why the roads and tracks to the bay is now gated off to keep people away. Back in time people didn't bring their vehicles across to the island, but used local transport or rented Mini Mokes to get around.

A great thanks to Tom and Janet that ran one of the backpacker hostels on the island for sharing your love and passion for this heavenly spot on earth.

An incredibly beautiful beach with clear clean water. Although it is only accessible by foot or 4wd, it is well worth the walk/drive

This place really puts the *rad* in Radical Bay
We visited during stinger season, so swam close to the rocks where we were slightly protected. Perfect swimming temperature!

Scenic spot. Access it via walking or boat. Can snorkel there too. Nice and sheltered Sandy beach with boulders at each end. No amenities.

Beautiful Postcard-perfect beach that is worth the bush walk from Horseshoe Bay or very bumpy 4wd only trip from the Forts.

Awesome beach, water temperature was perfect in late April/May. Would recommend after the 3 beach hike starting from the forts walk carpark. You'll be hot and sweaty and the water is perfect to cool off. A must visit for magnetic island!
