Great day out with or without the tour.
Even large cruseliners like Carnival come for a visit!
Amazing sunset over the ocean!

We went there several times walking from the Tangalooma Island Resort and brought our own freediving fear with us. If you come early the marine life is much more relaxed and you can see more variety in contrary to the times when the tour companies show up and rush with hundreds of people through the wrecks. We found out the best times are from 8:00 to around 9:30 and from around 15:30 to 16:30 to avoid the masses. We've seen quite a lot of species including a spotted wobbegong, pufferfish, octopus and a lot more. I just can recommend not going with an organized tour to have more time and observe more of the marine life. Even with higher waves the wreck side facing the beach is still convenient to explore. Avoid some of the narrow passages during the tides as the current can get quite strong. Overall: Amazing place. One more thing: Please be sure to take all your belongings and trash with you, when you leave.

Scuba diving with Tangalooma Watersports was phenomenal! We did a 40 minute drift dive starting at the South end of the shipwrecks and went to the far North end.

It is amazing to think that this place is only a hour boat ride away from Brisbane or the north end of the Gold Coast! It has an amazing selection of fish...better than I have seen in most snorkelling hot spots! Highly recommended a visit!

The wrecks were lovely to see, lots of fish around them. I didn't enjoy snorkeling around them, I think I was overthinking it and was scared to hurt myself on the wrecks. And I also have not been swimming or in water for a VERY long time, so I didn't feel very confident swimming out to them.
But, I did kayak around them and I really enjoyed it. You could see all the different fish, even a few starfish. The wrecks were very rusty and cool to look at. I definitely recommend kayaking around them if like me you aren't that confident in water

We set of at dawn from Manly, Qld for a day of the best bay experience ever 🌊

Our first morning stop was the middle of Moreton Bay to take-in the sunrise 🌞

Next we did some fishing 🎣

Followed by a stop at the Tangalooma camp site for the most gorgeous BBQ lunch. A simple gas cooker, some 🌭🧀🍞 in the most gorgeous setting on the sand, under the shade of the trees 🌳 taking in the view of the beautiful, clear, blue water of the Island.
We walked to the sand dunes and I was in awe of how vast, silent and pristine white the sand was. As it was an off-peak week day, it was awesome to just have the two of us sitting in this wide open space taking in what mother nature creates.

We then made our way to the ship wrecks at the resort, which were a mix of interesting, disturbing litter and of purpose to conservation, however captivating at the same time.

We truly live in such an awesome part of the world 🌎 which I never, ever take for granted!!

We came here as part of the cruise ship visit, very impressed with the reef and fish.

There’s a number of scuttled ships making up the artificial reef make for some fantastic snorkeling, or swimming. It’s a 10 minute leisurely snorkel out to the reef, I would suggest going with the tide.

And once you’re out there, you’ll see no shortage of fish, sharks, and sea life that’s shorter impress .

Definitely worth the trip, bring a snorkel and flippers 🤿

AMAZING...... all round. Day trip - Ferry trip across approx $50-60 return per person includes a drink on board, adults receive a $20 food voucher, and kids receive a $15 food voucher to spend on the island. Boat trip across aprox 75mins with commentary and great staff to assist you. You are allowed to use most facilities in the resort, including the pool, basket ball courts, tables with shades, and pergolas all-round to use. Great food from the beach cafe. We took our own snorkel gear. Hired a see-through 2 person kayak for an hr so we could see a bit more of the wrecks. Very strong current, so unless you are a strong swimmer, don't do it without a guide or kayak. They have a lot of extra activities, such as Segway on sand, 4 wheeler sand bikes, guided kyak and snorkel tours, helicopter joy flights and a whole lot more. Beautiful beach with pristine sand. It was such a great day trip, and I can't wait to go back with the family again. ❤

Such a fabulous location! We came here on a snorkeling tour, the wrecks are just incredible!

Do yourself a favour, come in a boat / car and spend the day. Pack a picnic and shelter, snorkel and flippers and be prepared to spend a day. Sunset is just stunning!

A strong recommend from me!!!

So so so cool. Highly recommend snoring here, but take safety precautions because it’s a hard swim. Definitely wear a life jacket. Really cool though. We saw a bottom feeder shark and loads of fish. Really cool experience.

For any lover of nature and marine life, wow. You MUST visit here or stay a the night. Explore the ship wreck, quad bike, kayak or even bring the 4WD! Nothing but shot of impressed with this beautiful island. 4WD only Island, no road. Alternatively catch the fairy in and make a day of it. Manage to sea a variety of sea life. Great day out.

One of our favourite day trip destinations. We usually latch our boat from Scarborough Marina and sirens the day doing BBQ, picnics, swimming, snorkelling, flying our drone, sliding down the sand dunes... absolutely breathtaking scenery and with lots to do....

Absolutely magic!!

Spent 2 nights sleeping in a boat out by the wrecks and it was one of the best adventures of my life.

Snorkelling was incredible with so much to see - good to check out the wrecks at both low and high tide as it’s a very different experience.

Heaps of bins available on shore to offload rubbish. Did a bit of fishing but came up short.

Turtles, dolphin, shark, starfish and so many colourful fish.

The weather was perfect. Highly recommend the trip whether you have a water Vessel or not.

The wrecks have created an amazing ecosystem for tropical fish, sea turtles and friendly sharks. We booked a snorkelling tour and saw the beautiful coral, lots of fish species including clown fish and a wobbegong shark. We came at high tide which was still amazing but if you can I think it would be more spectacular to see the wrecks from the shore at low tide. The wrecks are also quite a walk from Tangalooma Resort so consider hiring a bike to get there. Otherwise the walk was beautiful. Beautiful sandy beaches and clear water.

Worth visiting. Ferry trip (almost 90min) went smoothly both ways. Wide sandy beaches, shallow calm waters, corals and colourful fish around the wrecks. Perfect place for a day trip.

Great spot for snorkelling or kayaking. Lots of fish to see and the wrecks are beautiful. Sand on the beach is very soft and great place for a picnic.

A wonderful place just off Brisbane, we live in a river city and with that comes with the disappointment of brown water and the considered need to head up or down the coast. If you can beg borrow or steal a friends boat this place is like a visit the reef , blue turquoise water fish everywhere , head of from Nudgee boat ramp about 20 nautical miles on a good day you will get there in an hour but if it’s bumpy expect it to take a while longer.

Amazing experience, there are a lot of fish next to the wrecks and it can be very weird to even swim with them but it's very nice once you get used to it.
We went there with a tour so we did snorkelling and also kayaking. You better be well equipped because the corals can hurt a lot. We spent the day there and there are people living on the island too
