Campsite was fantastic!
Exactly as described, beautiful surrounds, access to lake, accessible with cars and carpark a very close walk away.
Easy booking and payment system.
Honestly, I didn’t use the toilet but it was functional and everyone else was using it (I just didn’t need to).
Campfire cooking was great, seemed to be one fire pit for ever two sites. Make you you bring your own wood and kindling!
Note: the walk to the lake isn’t just a wander down the path. For memory it was a proper sweaty 15 minute walk.
Lots of birds, bugs, snakes, lizards, and eels when you get down there.

We enjoyed our stay. The grounds were well kept and had about 18 sites for tents and a dozen or so pits scattered around the grounds.

Trail head for both bikes, walks and a couple good forest runs. Freshwater creek and also some rain water from the tank available.

Drop toilets were as designed and are regularly emptied via truck.

The lake is a good walk away for all levels and able to be enjoyed even by the lazy folk.

Tent sites are on smaller than other Vic camp grounds but still manageable. Books out early and often for the major holidays and school breaks.

I’ve been coming here for the last 10 years and it’s changed a lot, clearly the beauty of the place has gathered attention and it’s received a lot of funding. There is now a day car park as well as the campsite car park and a lot more information boards, upgraded toilets, picnic areas, boardwalks. The walk around the lake is always pleasurable and takes about an hour, including some short stops along the way, there are platypus in the lake but I am yet to see one. The walk is suitable for all fitness levels, the steepest part is near the start to get to the lake itself from the car park. As for the campsite, these are now on a booking system, although you can’t park next to your tent, they do permit you to drive your car to the drop off zone where you can unload all of your kit (saves you walking back and forth from the overnight car park which is at the top of a steep hill). Each camp spot is numbered and has its own flattened area just large enough for one tent. When it gets dark, make sure you walk to the banks of the stream as you will see glow worms.

I spent 3 nights before Christmas. Beautifully maintained 20 tent sites. Some picnic tables overgrown with moss and not all campfires have the swivel centre piece for hanging your billy. You need to take all your own drinking water or boil up the river water, and kindling and firewood. Drop toilets are clean. Loads of wild life wallabies, koalas, birds, snakes, lizards and lush flora. Beautiful !

Nice little hike. But definitely don't take the signs serious as to how long it's going to take you. They said an hour track in/out to the lake and it took us not even 15 min and the loop was supposed to take three and a half hours were back to the car in an hour and a half. Granted we were not walking a marathon but we also didn't stop every 10 feet. It requires a little bit of fitness but it isn't too bad.

Lake Elizabeth is about a 1hour return walk from the car park and picnic area. The walk grade is medium effort meaning some hills require a medium effort to walk. The track is well established and some steps are able to assist you. There are longer walks available. The sounds of cicadas and birds fills the Air. It is quite magical.

Worth the walk! 30 minutes there and back. It’s such a peaceful and serene place to be while it’s raining. You feel as if you’re one with nature. I will suggest bringing yourself a water bottle and if you’re asthmatic, your inhaler. Because majority of the walk is uphill.

Campground is well maintained and a short walk from the beginning of the Lake Elizabeth walking track. There are 20 individual campsites that require booking online before hand (Note, there's no reception at the campground, but a couple of minutes up the track you should be back in range).

Sites are different sizes, all will fit a 3x3m tent, but for larger tents double check the dimensions when booking. Some have metal fire pits attached, some have communal pits. Picnic tables are also scattered throughout. There is river access for collecting water, and 3 drop dunnies with tank water.

The lower car park has an unloading area where gear will need to be carried from. Cars then need to be moved to the overnight parking, which is only a short walk, but features steep steps so it's impractical for carrying gear.

IMPORTANT NOTES:
-No car/ van based camping (including awnings)
-No caravan access
-The campsite map is terribly inaccurate. Sites that appear to be isolated are actually back to back, some are numbered differently on site and just in different spots

Beautiful campsite by a river (more of fast a creek) that welcomes dogs on lead. A kilometre walk (grade four) from Lake Elizabeth, where you can fish (bring your own bait as well as all supplies, including drinking water, for both locations), and spot platypuses if you’re quiet enough for long enough at Platypus Beach.

The three drop toilets (one is accessible) for the campsite and the day walkers’ car park are maintained well, and have plenty of cold, non potable rainwater for hand washing - BYO environmentally friendly soap.

Bring everything you need for your day trip or camping, including fire wood and rubbish bags to take your scraps etc out with you.

Looking forward to camping for longer next time!

A beautiful campground with firepits and picnic tables. The walks are lovely and the lake is almost surreal - the colour is really cool! Basic drop toilets but very well maintained, clean and had plenty of toilet paper. A particular shout out to the park rangers for the area who were really nice and great to talk to.
